worst plays in panther history

My second nominee would be Foster's toss play reverse where he ran backwards for 10 yards then coughed up the football. I get the biggest laugh now but at the time I was going bat crazy.
More like pushed back by a finger and fumbled the ball like it was a hot potato. :(

(2nd clip on the left around the 1:10 mark)

On that same game, David Carr throws a rare nice pass to Drew Carter near the end of the 1st half. Throws a duck on 3rd down, then came the raucous boos, the "We Want Moore!" chants with Smitty trying to calm the home crowd down in vain, and the traditional "Let's kick a short field goal" routine. Never felt that embarrassed about my team like that before. Oy!

(and for those mentioning the 'Boys games, that fits more in the "worst officiating in Panthers history" category)

Ah, the wrist-cutting thread of the Huddle. The pain feels so good.

You sir, are a douchebag. There is nothing else to talk about this off-season (besides the billion Peppers threads). That doesn't make it a self-loathing emo thread.

since the worst ones have been mentioned already. im gonna say the 04 denver game when we where in fg range and we get flagged and will wilig (guess thats his name) throws the flag back at the ref, and we get another penalty that takes us out of fg range.

i remember that. that would qualify as one of the most bone headed plays ever

Easy, dude. Jeez. I was just having some fun. I have no problem with this thread.

The penalty on Smitty made the FG more difficult because htey couldn't make a first down after that (IIRC). But in the grand scheme of things, losing that game didn't affect Carolina that much. The one seed NYG won as many playoff games as the Cats, and the Cats still ended up with the #2 seed which meant a home playoff game. I would have to take the magnitude of the game into consideration.

How about the play where Smitty broke his leg in the first game of 2004?

That reminds me....when you ask a football player about the most memorable play of his career, most of the time they will mention an injury. Some will even call the game in which they were injured the most memorable game of their career.
