Local Prospects

I know a lot about the NC State guys but I'm not too up on other local teams. Here is what I do know from Raleigh though:

I'd really like to see Audie Cole have a great career. However, he doesn't really have the desire or work ethic to make it for more than a couple years in the NFL. Maybe being in Tennessee and working out with a lot of NFL prospects has kicked his butt in gear, but if it hasn't, then he won't last. (But he certainly does have the talent, it's more of a drive/desire issue.)

George Bryan will get a shot with a team, but he has some of the same 'drive' issues that Audie does. His first three years you would have sworn he had glue on his hands, but his last year he had a great number of drops. I really think this problem was more about his work ethic/concentration than anything else. I saw the other day where he actually admitted that he had almost become complacent with his skills because he had so much early success, but getting snubbed from the Combine has seemed to have lit a fire in him. He has improved his 40 time almost 4 tenths a second from the Senior Bowl to his Pro Day.

Terrelle Manning on the other hand could be an absolute stud in a few years. He's fast and quick and plays bigger than his measureables. Plus he has a tremendous work ethic. He's very raw though.

JR Sweezy has some talent, but he's extremely raw. Think Nick Hayden raw. He has had maturity issues in the past, but those seem to be behind him. He should get a shot in someones camp, but it wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't stick. Also wouldn't surprise me if he does stick either.

    • For a 3rd year QB? That flies with the Teppers and makes the HC and GM look like fools.  Their fear is evident. Their careers are tied to making it work, it's ehy they signed on here and they are professionals who knows what kind of a situation they could potentially have on their hands if they are not calculating about popping up Bryce. I call BS to that sir. It's why every QB after Bryce couldn't make any other rosters past a PS spot...at best
    • Not just Dalton.   But the only real young arm they would let be seen the past 2 years was a really a bad Jack Plummer.  Who was super weak even for that tier  Can’t convince me how weak they made the atmosphere around Young hasn’t been intentional.
    • Things of note: mentions he has six drops. Six. For all the people that don’t know what a drop is, he has six. That’s a long distance from the league leader at ten. (To be fair, pro football reference has him at seven, still not bad.  Plenty of others is that same range.  His drop % is 6.3, which is low.) Catchable ball success ratio: 83% which is great. Catchable being the key word.  Mentions his contested catch rate is low at 5/18 but that’ll get better I think when he can rely on muscle memory for routes, catches, etc and the game slows down for him
