Yep, expectations are extremely high for a 6-10 team with a lot of holes on defense. Hopefully this offseason will play out like I hope for the defense. But if Hurney stands pat and is crossing his fingers that our IR guys will be healthy, mirror images of themselves pre-injury? I think there are going to be a lot of unhappy fans that were expecting huge things this season.

And Ron Edwards is not going to make that big of an impact, sorry to say. He will be on par with what Shirley and the rest of our rotation gave us the last half of the season. Serviceable, but not game changing ability.

      There probably isn’t an orthopedic surgery that has had more improvement in technique and outcomes over the last two decades than the acl repair. Because of its importance in pro sports and the sheer number that surgeons do there have been lots of opportunities to practice 1. Better techniques - arthroscopic v open surgery means people heal faster  2. More training - all sports med surgeons have tons of experience doing them 3. better imaging - later generations of mri are more sensitive  4. better therapy - PTs have gotten better at rehabbing them and the theories of rehab have improved a lot. No idea about brooks in particular tho, but I’d describe that overall situation as “not great”

      If Freeling or either of the Utah OTs dropped to 19 I'd be more than happy honestly. Our OT situation isn't great with an aging Moton at RT and a mess of a situation at LT if Walker goes down at any point in time.  What I'm expecting the Panthers to do is probably draft another weapon like Sadiq or KC Conception. That's been their track record in drafting R1 thus far. None of the defensive talent projected to be around 19 stands out to me. Unless they just want to draft a LB early (Rodriguez,  CJ Allen, Anthony Hill, Jake Gollday).
