Saints' Punishment Isn't About Bounties

Let's be very clear about this. The New Orleans Saints are not reeling today because the defense chose to implement a bounty system designed to injure other quarterbacks. They are not reeling because some jilted informant told the league about their secret club. The Saints will be without Sean Payton in 2012 because they committed what the NFL perceives to be a more serious crime: They lied to Roger Goodell.

Didn't know Payton sent e-mails about bounties FROM HIS NFL E-MAIL ADDRESS.

Idiots.

Not only did they lie, they continued to do this after being told not to That is beyond dumb.

In fact if i recall correctly i just read that Sean Payton had contingency plans in place in case he got suspended for 4 games (LOL), on who would run the team for that time.

    • Enlighten me. What is the mind of a Bryce simp thinking?
    • I don't want Canales fired but he's definitely opened the door to a fair amount of skepticism and criticism for some things. As far as Rico Dowdle goes I was thrilled with how well he had been playing earlier in the season but I questioned the sustainability of it myself. And it was by no means the first time a lesser known RB came out of nowhere and put up great numbers. It's why the position is so plug and play now. And we see Chuba has came back down to Earth as well following a very productive season last year. And the elephant in the room is it took the Panthers having the highest paid OL in the league in order for both of them to put up the numbers that they did. In terms of the lack of running game all around right now it leads to not just a question of the gameplan and the playcalling but to a question of how do we establish the run anyway with such a pathetic passing game? I mean that's a basic building block of modern football. You pass to setup the run and vice versa. We need to see this offense with a QB who isn't Bryce Young or Andy Dalton.
    • Rico could have run for 100+. Rico is a volume RB.  He is a better RB today than Hubbard.  Not a Hubbard diss. And Dave has ensured Rico never gets his volume to go off ever since he was critical publicly of Dave Canales
