the following playoff teams drafted a LB in the first round within the last 5 drafts

GB, NE, SF, Cincy, Tex, Pitt, Den, Atl,

Balt has 2 1st rounders still playing at high levels.

Look at all the playoffs teams this year. Great Linebacking corps? Nope unless you count the 3-4 teams with rush linebackers. You can get top level LB and S in the 2nd and 3rd round.

Balt has 2 1st rounders still playing at high levels...so it is understandable why they stayed away

2 touches and 100 yards against the 49ers in the playoffs. How many yards did you expect him to put up against those weak defenses. 2000?

http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/gamelog/_/id/13232/jimmy-graham

His game didn't drop against teams like the Texans, Bears, Giants.

No shame in Koochy not being able to cover him. No LB can. Just quit saying he can.

he can aid in it.....scheme matters in this game. LB play prevented us from running ours.

Again, premature to make those claims about Jimmy.

Take out the pass rushing LBer which are worth more. You have 4 out of 12. And Baltimore will have one first round LBer they drafted in like 96. And Cinci if you are talking about Rivers traded him to the Gaints for a fifth.

Meanwhile, we will have drafted 3 in 7 years. Geez

You are getting awfully creative to make your point. Cincy drafted him in the first bc the position matters to them. That was the point you were arguing against......and I only looked at 5 years back.

Ryans

Mayo

Timmons

Willis

Hawk

Lewis

Vilma

Are all inside LBs drafted in the first round that played in last years playoffs. Vilma was the only one not drafted by the team.

Atlanta and Denver also run 43 schemes and had 1st round LBs in Witherspoon and Von Miller.

You are getting creative too. Didn't know this will be Ray Lewis 6th year, :) Even in 4-3, Miller is a rush LBer, and Timmons was drafted to be one. Ryans was a 2nd though, but I think Cushing is an ILBer, so I'll count it. More than I thought, but not impressed. How many of the playoff teams have good QB's. Postional value. Old school people don't want to admit, but not all postions are weighted equally.

Well, you don't need to draft a ILB when you have had what is arguably the greatest in NFL history playing at a high level. Fact is there simply were a lot first round ILBs in last years playoffs. 43 OLB still aren't 34 OLBs.....34 OLBs compare more to DEs than 43s

You are right, Ryan's was the 33rd pick. One out.....I think swapped him and Cushing as I was also looking at 2nd rounders during the process.

I don't think all position are weighted equal. LB is still an important position though. Mainly, I don't think you pass on LB talent for lesser DT talent....which has been my only position in this Luke talk. Luke isn't my first choice.....got on the Luke kick when half the board was talking Poe. Only like him over Cox bc I am looking short term and feel we need help immediately

Ok Luke has talent. I dont think we disagree there. Cox has talent. I dont....think we disagree there. Generally top 15 picks are certain postions unless a prospect is expected to be exceptional for that position. Like a one in 3 year or so player. What I think we may disagree on is I don't think Luke is...that kind of talent you may or may not. My point is unless you think he is that kind of talent then you use a scarce resource on him. I hope we only draft truely exceptional LBers and S in the first round.

The Asante Samuels move was brillant by the Eagles. They have made a few mistakes, but for the most part they know how to use their resources. In a vacuum Samuels for a fifth is disgusting. But they tried for a second last year. Evaluated how valauble it was to have 3 corners. Decided that money would be better spent elsewhere while getting a extra resource in a fifth round pick. Samuels doesnt' t have much longer left at 30+ and at around 10 million a year. Brillant! Eagles would never draft 3 first round LBers in 7 years.

    • Sunday Ticket is now offering a monthly subscription if you're not interested in subscribing for the full package Keep in mind that the full package will be less expensive than getting billed monthly for the same timeframe.  But for a one-off month situation? Certainly an option to consider they also don't seem to mind if 2 households share the same Sunday Ticket login. If you call and ask for discounts, they kinda allude to "do you have a friend you can share the cost with" in the conversation
    • Watching ALL the games will require: Antenna or cable access to local broadcast partners to view the games of the local team. Due to blackout restrictions, the local games will not be available on Sunday Ticket.  What this means is that you DON'T NEED Sunday Ticket to view those local team's games. All games for a local team will ALWAYS be available on a local broadcast partner, no subscription required I've had success streaming the evening Sunday and Monday national games directly off the NFL/NBC/ABC websites, no subscription required. That said, ESPN may require login via your cable provider account - but it's included in your cable fee, so have fun with that.  NBC is available for free via antenna (or avail via cable, take your pick -- and ABC has been simulcasting the ESPN games, so that's also an antenna/free optio. The Peacock and Netflix exclusive games will require subscriptions to those services if the teams are not your local team YouTube will broadcast the Brazil game free  NFL Network for those random thursday games that aren't your local team... until the ESPN partnership comes into play, in which case your ESPN subscription should give you access (lots of assumptions with this bullet) Everything else is pretty much Sunday Ticket or go to your local bar I may have missed one, but the general gist is above In short, don't believe the online influences who say you need to purchase a full-year subscription to a service to watch "all" the NFL games (ie full year of Peacock). Because you don't need a full-year sub.   So no -- there is not a single service that will let you watch ALL the games Sunday Ticket will only cover you only for the sunday daytime games.
    • Aaaaaaand... ND immediately throws an INT. Tried to run that same screen they've ran a dozen times tonight and Miami had two defenders sitting on it and he threw it anyway.
