1. Quinton Coples DE UNC. 6'6 284

I like picking a guy with something to prove. I believe that the motor questions are getting to this guy even though he has denied that the questions do not bother him and I think that is a good thing for the team that picks him. Coples is great against the run and a good pass rusher with 17.5 sacks in the last 2 years. The Panthers will not get a freak athlete in Coples, but will get the most well rounded DE in the draft. Aside from Fletcher Cox, Coples may also be the best DT this class has to offer as well.

2. Lavonte David OLB Nebraska. 6'1 233

David is fast, instinctive, and great at both coverage and blitzing. He is the best 4-3 OLB in this draft and is the small, quick LB that our FO seems to covet. Has amassed 285 tackles in his last two seasons.

4. Joe Adams WR/RS Arkansas. 5'11 179

The Panthers will be getting the best returner in the draft. Plays much faster than his 4.55 40 time. Displays a high intensity level, loves to talk trash and make defenders look silly., People say that a lot of players remind them of Steve Smith, I feel like Adams comes close to that bill and possesses some of that same fire.

5. Keith Tandy CB WVU 5'10 197

I like corners who are aggressive and can hit. Tandy is that, he is a ball hawk and brings it hard every down.

6. Desmond Wynn OG Rutgers 6'6 303

6. Philip Thomas FS Syracuse 5'11 198

Slow 40 time and injury/off the field have his stock down. I think Thomas has the best instincts of any safety in the draft, good ball skills and tackling ability

7. Shaun Powell P Florida State ?'? ?-He's a punter

Big leg, kicks the ball

Guest Bwood

Switch our Kieth Tandy with Chris Greenwood.

And Phillip Thomas with Dale Moss.

Like the other picks though

"Put the guess I want us to pick rather than the guys you want to give us."

Dude, your obsessed with your small school "future all pros"

Yes, they present the most potential late in the draft. Unless someone can introduce me to some better sleeper prospects.

They have the size speed and production (well i know Moss did with almost 1000 yards receiving) you need at their respective positions.

The only reason they are not early round draft picks is due to going to smaller schools.

I just see no point in drafting guys like Tandy and Thomas. I see no way for them to be good / pro bowl players in their career.

Moss and Greenwood will NEVER be Pro Bowlers, Moss plays way slower than his timed 40. Tandy led the Big East in interceptions and pass defenses in 2010, the Big East, a real conference (although not one of great power). Do not put so much stock in underwear numbers. You draft solid depth later in the draft, I feel like Tandy would be a great nickel and think Thomas could contribute immediately at S. I doubt they will ever be Pro Bowlers...they would be 5th and 6th rounders COME ON KIPER!

Plays slower than his 40 time?!? lol Please. And I guess Lafell plays faster than his almost 4.6 forty time huh? lmao

First year playing college football the dude gets almost 1000 yards! Thats fugging impressive!

Good size, good speed, nice hands, and produced in college. Stop hatting!

Dont we already have nickles in Capt, Bulter, and Hogan?!?! And almost all of Tandys INT's were off deflections.

Thomas is better and is gonna beat out the 4 - 5 other S's on the team as a 6th round pick?!? Please.

Wasted picks

Dash you obviously value guys who play well against future burger king employees in jv ball and performing in shorts. I value production on the field against real talent, workout numbers are squat and be honest that got u on the Moss train

Um lets be real. You are not getting any good D1 player in the 6th or 7th round. Their is a reason why no one wanted them. OL and DT can come through late some times but I wouldnt count on it. You damn sure aint getting a good CB from a major conference in the 6th round.

That why you must look for sleepers and people with a lot of potential and upside. Whether that be from them being new to the game / position, coming from a smaller school ect.

It doesnt matter if the guy has only played flag football. Talent is talent. And Dale Moss is more talented than almost anyone we can draft in the 6th - 7th round.

Moss may be the most gifted in that round. It is a fallacy to believe that you can predict the success of late rounders. If you believe that you can, you have too much confidence in your amateur scouting skills

No one can predict the success of ANY college player, 1st or 7th round.

Only thing you can do is look at what you know and make the best decision.

From the looks of if Dale Moss is the most gifted / has the most potential of any player late.

Like I said, I am all ears for people to introduce me to better sleeper / late round prospects.

    • Many Panthers fans are already excited about second-round selection Nic Scourton for a variety of reasons including but not limited to: the Panthers needed to recharge the position group, Scourton had a late first-round grade according to many (including the Panthers), and he fit this season's modus operandi of stopping the run now and forever. However, Scourton was seen early on as one of the top-3 EDGE guys in this class but fell due to not having quite the season at Texas A&M as he did prior at Purdue (his sophomore season). It's been revealed since then a few different things that speak to that dip in production... Texas A&M, for one, requires each player on their line to be able to hold two gaps. This also explains why we saw low production across the board from the other two TA&M prospects but were still being heavily touted. Scourton was also said to have bulked up to 280lbs in order to fulfill this role and noticeably suffered from it. He's expected to play this season with Carolina at 255 - 260 which is very different from most situations. In most situations, teams are wanting players to gain 15 - 30. Since Scourton is going to be playing at his Purdue weight, I thought it would make sense to dive more into that tape. Y'all... we might have gotten something special... Let's take a quick peek at the stats before we start drooling over some highlights. First, a summary of the last two seasons for Scourton: Second, the game splits: The first thing that pops up for me is how Scourton's sack numbers were cut in half his senior year. We've already pointed out issues with scheme that impacted the TA&M linemen from racking up numbers, but seeing the game splits it's clear that Scourton didn't exactly feast on inferior competition while at Purdue. He had two two-sack games (vs. Michigan (2023 - 2024 champs), Indiana) and a 10-tackle game (vs. Nebraska). I also see the 2024 games where he went up against two top-10 tackles (Will Campbell from LSU + Armand Membou from Missouri) that I watched leading up to the draft.  For those who just want a summary: Scourton looked elite at Purdue and is going to be rotating in often during his rookie campaign. I originally had him penciled in as the second-string, strong-side edge defender behind Clowney but I wouldn't be surprised to see the team have him and Pat Jones II moving around when they rotate in in order to find where Nic looks best. Here's a highlight reel to replace that Cialias you lost in your recliner tonight:   For those that like to use their own eyes: Below I'll be linking the linking the five games I've mentioned above. If you plan to watch all of them, I highly recommend going in the order listed as that will allow you to see him vs. Campbell and then Membou while dealing with the aforementioned things he dealt with at Texas A&M before seeing him look unstoppable in 2023 when he was allowed to play both at a comfortable weight and in a scheme that didn't require him two cover two gaps nearly every play. vs. Will Campbell (2024) vs. Armand Membou (2024) vs. Nebraska (2023) vs. Michigan (2023)   vs. Indiana (2023)
    • Yea, i honestly think he had almost as much say as Dan.  One of the main reasons I think that is Eager has said before he was ever with the Panthers, that you trade away picks for a qb and for any other position you do pick swaps, and that's exactly what we did.
    • For a LB that is a long career.  They take a beating.  Shoulders and head.  My favorite LB of All Time--Junior Seau--had a 20-year career--the average career for a STARTING MLB is 5.6 years.  I really think Shaq is done, but if he can play, it does not mean that he should.   Think about Morgan's career--7 seasons.  Luke's career--8 seasons.  Beason played only 93 games over 10 years--only 5 seasons where he played 15 games or more.  The other 5 seasons?  No more than 5 games per.  So basically, the average starting MLB plays 90 games in his career.  Shaq has played 123 games and was pretty injury free until the last 2 seasons (6 games total).
