The injury bug bit us in the ass last year so you would assume that Rivera and Co. would at least give the defense a chance to work with the talent returning from injury to gauge how good/bad it was, how good/bad it is, and how good/bad it can be. If he finds himself constantly seeing bad things about next years defense just expect a lot of changes in the off-season. Plain and simple.

Rome was not built in a day. Would we rather we take this one step at a time and have sustainable playoff seasons over the next 8-10 years by building and evaluating with prudence or just sign the first Albert Haynesworth that comes along? I trust Rivera over the long haul.

It really baffles me why this FO is so hesitant to sign a starter or draft a DT in early rounds.

Remember what Hurney and RR said prior to the draft...they were looking for an immediate impact starter in round 1. Given that criteria, and the reality that few DT's are ready to make an impact day 1, this may continue to be a problem until we get lucky with a later round pick.

I'm not saying it is the right approach, just reality.
