Do you guys use any supplements or preworkout drinks? My husband has bought a few and likes them but I didn't like them. I just purchased Energy and Endurance from Beachbody. I'm going to give it a try. Any recommendations?

Yes, I've tried quite a few of them...

I'm currently taking VPX Friction and really like it... tastes good, has a good list of ingredients on it (a lot of them don't) and really gets me going.

I've tried:

Jack3d Micro - too much "stim" feeling... like jittery, did not like.

PhD Wired - decent, but not great

C4 - Excellent, but I built up a tolerance to it quickly. This is a good one if you don't want to take any creatine.

1.M.R - Good, nice pump and energy... tastes like vomit. Not kidding. I had to choke it down every day.

NO Xplode - literally did nothing for me

N.O. Fury - Meh... same as Xplode really

I like ones with creatine, beta alanine and a good dose of caffeine to wake me up from sitting in my office chair all day when it's time to workout. Anything with caffeine works best obviously if you don't drink coffee/sodas all day and blunt your bodies reaction to the caffeine in the pre.

I usually get my stuff at Vitamin Shoppe... they have a good return policy. No questions asked refund. If I get one I don't like, I take it back.

I tried a pre a couple of years ago, liked it but it seemed to decrease in efficacy by half every time I took it. Seemed like a waste of money. Don't remember which one it was, but it didn't have creatine included.

How long have you been using VPX friction?

I have taken Friction last week and this week... so I'd say about 8 times. I have not noticed a drop off yet. We shall see. The way my normal workout works I usually take it four days in a row, then skip the fifth when I do cardio only.

So far one full scoop is good. Yesterday, and I don't know why this, it hit me really, really hard. It was shoulder day and I was pretty lit up time I got to the gym. I am sore today too... I went at it pretty hard.

I have never noticed a drop off like what you're saying Jase... with the C4 after about a month, I was up to almost two scoops... but nothing like half every other day...

I know Johnny Rockets took the old Jack3d... and he didn't die... did he?

True story. I went in a GNC looking for Jack3d after JR's ringing endorsement of it. The sales guy convinced me to go with a different brand (one of GNC's shadow brands probably.) Anyway that's the stuff that didn't last. And it gave me heart palpitations for a while. No more GNC for me for a multitude of reasons.

i dunno. muscleprime does it. i liked muscleprime, even though it doesn't give the energy other preworkouts do, i was never sore the next day no matter how hard i worked.

now that i've gone off the muscleprime i'm sore every damn day

This is off the MusclePrime label...

G.H. Factor 2,400mg †

LYS-ARG-PYRO G.H. Blend [Lysine HCL (1,200 Mg), ARG-PYRO Blend (Arginine Pyroglutamate, Arginine AKG (2:1), Arginine HCl, L-Arginine Base) (1,200 Mg)]

So it actually has a GH purpose... I don't think I've ever taken anything like that.

    • TBH, these are the kind of players that get weeded out of professional sports pretty quickly. Also, CMC is not that guy. There is zero indication that he isn't competitive.
    • I like the free agency. It actually helps basically all schools across the board. Pretty much only ancient HC's and/or HC's that haven't been able to adjust have been complaining about the free agency. Your fortunes can be made or broken every offseason. It's not like before where a bad recruiting class or two meant multiyear purgatory.  I will never understand all the bellyaching about the NIL. If you want to talk about what ruined college athletics, it has been naked greed. Conference expansions for TV revenue, ever skyrocketing AD and facilities costs and now the attempts to permanently ruin the postseasons(football and basketball).  All the kids did was get a very well deserved piece of a very, very, VERY broken pie.
    • Nobody is saying they don't count against the cap, because yes, they technically do count against the cap as it's money the team is paying and it needs to be accounted for. But what you're not grasping it seems is that if a player gets $10 million guaranteed in their contract, whether they get literally $0 as a signing bonus or $8 million as a signing bonus, it doesn't change the overall cap hit of the contract, because cap hits are about the guaranteed money, not how much is paid up front. The only thing that how much is paid up front changes, is how the cap hit can be spread out amongst the years. So yes, technically there could end up being a slightly bigger cap hit in year 3 and 4 due to a bigger signing bonus, but if that is the case, it also means there will be a lesser cap hit in years 1 and 2 than there would have been with a smaller bonus.  But over the length of the contract, the size of the signing bonus has literally zero affect on the overall cap hit of the contract, because THAT part of it is 100% about the guaranteed money and nothing else.
