Training Camp Predictions

I also want to see Rivera practicing more clock management situations. He needs a few reps...

That is a great point. Before last season Ron said he was reading theory books on clock management because it was never part of his duties before. At the time I thought it might cost us a game or two and it became a factor on a few occasions. Most notably when he called a timeout against the Saints* so they could set up a field goal. He said that was a learning moment for him so hopefully he works on that sort of stuff a ton this off season.

I just think back, so many things had to go wrong for our season to fall flat. Remember the Vikings game? Cam runs the ball for first and goal and Steve gets called for holding, we had to settle for a missed field goal. Just tiny things like that lost us games every week. The blown assignment on Patrick Peterson's kickoff return...brutal.

    • When we have everyone playing like they should, we can win the Cup. That has been the biggest problem when we get to the playoffs, but this year seems to be fixed mostly. We could have had multiple if we had done this in the past.
    • Here we go Bryce Stan’s you should love this. Hell it may be one of you.  It has every cliche excuse and then some.  Unintentionally hilarious my limit was reached when he said Bryce had it hard because four play callers.
    • Luke goes in to the specifics of what he looked to accomplish in joint practices.  Basically they may work with someone on the opposing team to stress something they feel is a weakness in their own game in a different way that can be done with someone they are familiar with. That they can have predetermined stresses but since neither wants to get injured and it has absolutely no bearing on anything there is not the level of concern that would be in a preseason game.  He would also even chat with opposing OC.   It seems like an interesting nuance among the vets and savy pros.
