NCAA 2013

Keep Pounding

Anybody play the DEMO yet?

I thought it was pretty good, never really been a NCAA guy, but wanting to see how different the new EA football games would be like. I know it was just a DEMO, but if Madden is suppose to be anything like or better the NCAA, then Madden might actually be really good this year..

Pros-

Throwing on the run finally more realistic than any year so far.

Hurry up, gives you like 3 plays to pick as the team is lining up, for Offense and DEF.

The passing game is not as cheesy, and the touch throw is a great addition.

The option is very good, seems like it will not be to cheesy, as I played the CPU, I averaged like 4 yards per carry, I did get stopped for a lot a negative yards and fumble 2. Which I liked because it shows that it is a high risk high reward type, I like how you can fake pitch also.

The DEF plays tuff, but there is no physic INTS, so if a DEF has his back turned he want see the ball. CB jump routes a lot.

The passing game has been tuned down, its like you really have to read DEF and make the right read, since ICONS will

light up when WR is expecting the ball, you have to be good at user catching if you throw the ball to a WR before the WR is

ready based off the route he is running.

I like how you can cancel PA as your QB is dropping back if it is a blitz.

The DEF adjustment went back to 09 Madden and previous versions, so it seems like you will be able to to DEF,

Adjustments faster, which I like. mainly with the Dline and LBers.

Run commit and pass commit is back, you can run commit left, right or middle and then pass commit. which I love, I hated when they took that out of the game, but it works only pre snap, but still rather be able to run or pass commit than

not being able to.

Cons-

I don't like the tackling, a lot of times a guy will get hit a fly like 5 yards up field.

The CB rocket catch INTS a lot, which gives the DEF a big advantage, i think that needs to be tuned down.

Pass lead is way to much, I like to pass lead, but it seems on this version it tries to throw the WR open, ex. TE on a streak, but a safety is playing man is to the right of the TE, so I pass lead left, but the ball goes to an area, that makes it seem like the TE original route was a corner route, or even a deep out. I don't like that, I want the TE to still go on a streak but lead him away from coverage, a lot of times you end up throwing the ball to another Defender on the other side of the field. when you only wanted to the lead the TE a few yard away from the defender covering him. Im still practicing on leading, but it to me is a lot different.

While running with the QB to the LOS, defenders in close zones still stand there until the QB crosses the LOS, i can't stand that.

    • Number 9  Carolina Panthers  Bryce Young, the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, produced career highs in completion percentage (63.6%), passing yards per game (188.2) and passing touchdowns (23) in 2025. However, those numbers aren't exactly stellar by NFL quarterbacking standards. Even though the Panthers backdoored their way into the postseason in 2025 as NFC South champions with an 8-9 record, Young's performance was up-and-down. He threw for the third-fewest passing yards by a quarterback to make the playoffs in the last 20 seasons, per CBS Sports Research.  FEWEST PASSING YARDS BY QB TO REACH PLAYOFFS, LAST 20 SEASONS (MIN. 16 STARTS) PASSING YARDS PLAYOFF WINS 2012 Christian Ponder (MIN) 2,935 0 2008 Joe Flacco (BAL) 2,971 2 2025 Bryce Young (CAR) 3,011 0 2006 Steve McNair (BAL) 3,050 0 2019 Josh Allen (BUF) 3,089 0 Young did deliver some high highs, like when he threw for a franchise-record 448 yards passing in a Week 11 overtime win at the Atlanta Falcons and when he went toe-to-toe with Stafford in the playoffs in a 34-31 defeat.  Kenny Pickett couldn't win the Cleveland Browns' quarterback competition a year ago, and Will Grier is a career backup. • That thread has all the huddle legends either posting in it or mentioned in it. I remember everyone of those folks and I truly miss seeing them post here. This place was so much better with them here.
