there were 2 BIG defensive penalties that kept that drive alive.

Regarding the first penalty, I don't think you can argue it kept the drive alive. The penalty came after a nice catch that had us at 3rd and 1 and the penalty was tacked on. For the second one, Smith would have been open in the end zone had they not held him, and the pass appeared to be on target, so that one would have likely been a td without the penalty.

That was a very nice drive running the no huddle or at least an expedited pace. I don't think it would work for a whole game though.

Sophmore slump. Defenses are taking away what he did well last year...Red zone runs, long ball. He looked better in his short passing game today. Bottom line is he isn't complete yet.
