Can Matt Stafford be fixed?

I don't see it that way.

His play and stats are relatively the same as last year. I'd expect them to be better if the coaching was worth its salt.

There are tons of white athletes, especially QBs, who have been notorious douchers and/or unsavory characters, and they are not chided and rode like Cam has been for so much less. Big Ben is a prime example. He just threw his OC under the bus, AGAIN on Sunday before they even played... Don't see that leading off Mike and Mike.

Big Ben has won two Super Bowls!!!

What has Cam done in the NFL to earn that kind of respect? Break a few rookie records that no one even knew existed before he broke them?

Jesus, Proud I don't know what to tell you. I guess Tony Romo's screw ups or Jay Cutler's bad behavior never led off Mike and Mike.

That generally involved on-field behavior.

They are using his off-field and postgame quotes to the point that they ignore his on-field performance, good or bad. They're trying to link his off-field behavior, which isn't incomprehensible to begin with, to bad on-field performance, when his on-field performance hasn't been that bad... Definitely not bad enough to justify Vince Young parallels. Yet, they're trying to fate him into that. They've completely flooded every source of media with bad stories about Cam as a person that it has begun to sway people into believing his play is bad as well.

It pisses me off.

I disagree, for instance I think Cutler's off field behavior/comments are MUCH more scrutinized than his play.

Look, let's just root for Cam to pull it together.

Both the lions and the Rams have sucked for so long, the press really doesn't expect much out of them. It's News when they win or play well. Otherwise, when they loose, it's Business as usual.

Buffalo was like that until last year. Now the press disects every game of the Bills. Chiefs as well. Chiefs sit Cassel like they did yesterday, and it makes headlines! (Especially when they sit him for Brady Quinn!) That would be like sitting Newton and starting Clausen! (Hang onto the Clausen Jersey guys!)

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
