I can't wait to see him in action. I hate the Braves with a passion but I can appreciate a great pitcher. Hopefully he lives up to his hype and all indications are that he will.

Phils/Braves weekend series in Atlanta mid-late August if you are interested in a road trip Scrum.

(Braves had a nice pick up yesterday in MClouth also)

Phillies can suck my balls. When i play MLB 09 The Show i refuse to lose to the Phillies. I HATE THEM. Not as bad as the Mets though. The media slobbering on the Mets is amusing.

NAte's a very good player and a great player for a Pirate. This means we have traded away an outfield of McLouth, Nady and Bay in less than 12 months. Wierd part was they had resigned Nate to a long contract this off season. I would bet that Jack Wilson and Adam LaRoche are already packing because they will be next.

I do have to say that all in all this trade will make them better. The Pirates are in no way playoff bound for at least 2 more years and this move gets us a pitcher who should move up to the bigs this year and some much needed quality in the minors.

D*mn, didn't realize they moved the whole outfield till you said that. Adam LaRoche has to be catching the eye of a lot of teams. Kid has really turned it on.

    • We're definitely not going to get the benefit of the whistle anytime soon. Teams have certainly been getting more physical with us since that first Pistons loss. We responded with many upcoming wins by playing very physical basketball ourselves. That's what it's going to take. If it means some fouls along the way so be it but the team has to set the tone. But either way we need more offense closer to the rim. We're right there with GS for most 3PA. And the Warriors are also backing their way into a play in game. We shouldn't be wanting to emulate that.
    • Honestly this feels like a coaching problem. They have a certain "type" with "flaws" that they believe can be coached, the issue is mingo, XL, and others have not took to this "coaching". I thought the one group panthers would excel in would be WR, given Dave, brad, and Moore backgrounds( WR coach was a solid NFL WR). Just a wealth of WR coaching, but........ I also feel BYs confidence in XL is one of the main issue, its their relationship. I think BY trust the following- tremble, Tmac, Coker and that's all(maybe new Metchie) . There was a vid and XL and BY were repping together. I do feel if you put XL with about any of the top QB, you'd see some good numbers at times and you'd see a NFL WR.
    • It's cooled off because teams are coming out and pressing them and fouling them 35ft out, the backup Knicks are holding jerseys and getting away with it and that's been a repeating theme over the last few weeks.    Teams are coming out and applying pressure closer to halfcourt, playing tough physical defense, grabbing jerseys and the like to get them out of rhythm and it's been effective.
