no I dont want a fan as a GM. Making Fantasy League trades etc. I want someone that knows how to be a gm, knows how to build a winning football team, knows how to evaluate talent, and knows how to manage cap figures as to not handcuff the team in the future. Beane, lacks the experience necessary.

Your logic eliminates Marc Ross! Who do you want?

If you go way back, you might remember that the word on what the Panthers wanted was someone who was "an up and coming GM" (i.e. not a retread) and someone with a "strong scouting background".

And if you want confirmation of that, just look at the current interview list:

Lake Dawson - 12 years scouting experience

George Paton - 16 years scouting experience

Marc Ross - 16 years scouting experience

Dave Gettleman - 25 years scouting experience

Brandon Beane's scouting experience? He watched a bowl game a couple of weeks ago.

He said he wanted someone that knows how to be a GM, Ross has never been one! He had a multitude of requirements that eliminates pretty much everyone! Trying to see who he had in mind to fill his requirements.

Don't get me wrong, not saying I want Beane as our GM, but I am unimpressed with the Ross resume to the point I feel like, "Hey, let the guy that really wants to do it have a shot!"

Actually, he said he wanted someone who has "never been one".

    • Dan's been part of 5 drafts, 3 as an assistant to the "last guy" and 2 leading the way. The first 3 with Fitts were pretty ugly overall. Last year's draft, his 1st, isn't looking hot. This year looking like a winner.  He's been part of some bad FA decisions, some good ones, and right now we have the most expensive OL in the league with our franchise LT on the last year of his rookie deal. That's going to get even more expensive.  I'm not ready to crown him as a GM god quite yet because one good year isn't making up for all the bad that's been done the previous 4.
    • It is what it will be. I’m over bitching about Young myself. It changes nothing about the situation to constantly complain about him so I personally am not going to do it. I’m looking for another target because this one is played out and it changes nothing.
    • I’m getting his jersey. I never buy jerseys. But today I bought 2 at the team store. I got a Delhomme and Peppers legacy jerseys. They didn’t have my size in. DB jersey. Its at the top of my jersey hit list.
