Spent some time drinking pints in Rugby and Coventry. Became a fan of Liverpool while there.

Drinking pints is the perfect way to spend any time in England! When you say a fan of Liverpool I presume you mean the football (soccer) team? I live 15 miles from Liverpool and about 20 miles from Manchester but have been brough up a Manchester United fan so Liverpool i'm definitely not a fan of! My girlfriend is though from Liverpool which makes for many an excuse made when i'm giving the scousers abuse when they're on tv!

@jgraham

This post almost brought a tear to my eye...

Welcome aboard mate!!

Thank you!

I prefer the country myself.

We still don't lock our doors out here and the ignition keys are...well...in the ignition.

If I tried to leave my keys in the car and leave the door unlocked i'd pretty soon have no belongings or car! The great thing about where I live though is the countryside isn't more than 15 minutes away. I prefer the calmness of the country and if you ever come to England i'd definitely suggest visiting teh Lake District - some of the greatest countryside you'll ever see!

And the driver sits on the left side here.

And how many British cars are still started with keys?

The left hand side is all kind of wrong! ha - I hired a car when in Greece last year and had to drive left side, it threw me completely!

Rewatch the 03',08,10' seasons.

Should explain a few things around here.

I'm going to get around to going on a youtube tour of past seasons, I think it's about time I got to know some of the history of the team!

Another European fan, nice! I'm not from the UK, but quite close: Belgium!

Hello!

I'm English, but I live in the US. My dad's side of the family and my sister still live over there though, just north of Brighton.

And welcome to the Panthers family!!

Thank you for the welcome!

Welcome! I'm in the same boat as you kinda as I'm in the process of trying to learn English Premier League soccer :P I started playing FIFA a few years and became a Liverpool fan because I loved Torres and now they have Suarez who's a monster, but the rest of the team is crashing haha. I watch their games as much as I ca. And I'm pumped for the game vs Man U Sunday even though I'm sure Liverpool will get crushed! I'm still learning how it all works though so if you have any American football questions ask me and I'm sure I'll have a soccer question in return for you!

What's the difference between a nickle defense and a dime defense?

I love that gif on your sig! Steve Smith & Cam Newton both doing the business!

Yeah that sounds like a fair trade! I'm really nervous about Sundays game, despite us being clear at the top of the table Liverpool always raise their game for us and Suarez is on fire lately. Robin van Persie though is also killing it so it should be a good tussle! My problem is the majority of my friends & family are Liverpool fans and so if we do lose on Sunday i'm in for a lot of stick!

Suarez surely is on fire, cheating twatt, just ask those Mansfield fans from last Sunday's FA cup game.

ManU fan? You must love 'Fergie time' the cranky old git!.........NUFC fan, and yes I'm from the North East ;)

At least we have the Panthers in common, I live in Charlotte now, only 3 miles from the stadium, had PSL's for 6 years (season tickets) and I go to every home game. Heck even did an away game once to St Louis during the Jimmy Clausen era.....we all know how that worked out....

Well his hands are on fire! I don’t like Suarez at all as a person but as a player he is very very good. Fergie time is a myth! Ha NUFC must be a sore subject at the minute after the weekend and with Ba recently leaving!

I’d love to be able to see a Panthers game, how long have you been living in America for? How come you moved to that part of America?

Welcome.

You'll find some general craziness on this board plus some useful information at least once a year.

If you're keen to learn about the pro game, then I recommend Pat Kirwan's book. You'll discover some interesting things...like the difference between 12 and 22 formation. His radio show on Sirius is good--if you can subscribe from the UK.

    • I’m keeping an eye on what the Hawks do with Boye Mafe. There’s a few young talented players that needs to be retained and one of their defensive starters might not fit within the budget. My guess is probably Riq Woolen is voted off the island but Mafe could be potentially too. His stats aren’t eye popping, but in McDonald’s defense, his role is to leverage for the DL to clean up. Mafe’s QB pressure rate is top notch and in a different scheme, he could clean up.    Just something to watch this weekend when SEA is in town.
    • Ok fair to judge only his starts.  But you do acknowledge that going from "he's waaaay above league average in a number of categories" to "here's a single stat where he's above league average (not "waaaay") and another where he is exactly at the league average" is a pretty significant backpedal, no?  I'm guessing he's probably in the ~10th range for completion percentage too if we're only looking at starts (I'm too lazy to isolate his starts and do the calculations), so I'll grant you that one too.  But I don't think completion percentage is all that meaningful as a standalone stat if it isn't bolstered by good TD%, Y/A, etc. On that note, for how much people like posting Passing Charts in here (*cough* CRA) - if you peep Shough's passing charts, he hasn't completed a single 20+ yard pass in the past 3 games combined.  His last one was in Week 13 against the Dolphins, which was a single pass of 24 yards.  I just want to be consistent in how we apply our standards - I think it's always been warranted to criticize Bryce for it (even dating back to his rookie season), but do we suddenly not care about that with Shough? And yeah I did acknowledge that Saints' fans have reason to be excited about him and complimented his poise, which is giving my props.  Still not sure I agree that he looks better than a "ton" of QBs nor do I think you or anyone have really demonstrated that.  I think you are generally one of the more reasonable level-headed posters which is why I'm confused at what I consider to be rather hyperbolic language about Shough.
    • I don't disagree with you, but want to point out that Tremble's strong suit has always been blocking. Case and point: on Horn's 25 yard run, he lays down not 1 but 2 nice blocks...and is looking for #3! https://www.panthers.com/video/jimmy-horn-jr-s-25-yard-run-gives-panthers-red-zone-access-on-first-drive
