Fairly or unfairly, if you don't have a winning season in 4 years most people wouldn't consider you a successful QB.

So with the way things are looking, your question could very well be "When was the last time an unsuccessful QB willingly left a team?".

That's a lot easier to find examples of.

Almost all of the elite QBs you're thinking of who never changed teams were on successful teams. How many elite QBs suffered through their entire rookie contract and never had a winning season and then decided to stick around?

If a QB went through his entire rookie contract without a winning season would it not be likely that the team would be ready to go in a different direction?
