Is there an agenda behind the anti dual threat, hybrid or read option QBs

i don't think the problem was the frequency of the read option as much as how often cam kept it, how predictable it was, the OL being inadequate, and chud just not paying attention to whats going on. he was a crap playcaller.

Yep. Chud called plays based purely on percentages, not based on situations or how certain defenders were playing (is the DE over pursuing? Will that LB bite on a play-action? Is that CB trying to jam us at the LOS?). I HATED running the read-option on 2nd and 10, and Chud seemed to love it there. It would often result in 3rd and 13-17 which is usually a dead drive.

iirc it was that fat piece of poo rush limbaugh who "played the race card"

the poo mcnabb caught from dipshits who've prob never even been tackled in their lives was entirely unwarranted

who did he catch it from? remember that there were complaints that he was trying to be a pocket passer.

Well dude, whether you call it race card or not, I have nothing invested in this. Because of that I'm impartial. So pointing out those obvious annoyances doesn't mean I am using race to get favoritism. But those people who wants QBs to stay non-athletic or 'in the pocket' obviously wants to maintain the status quo. So they get mad and vilify people who point that out by using the race card accusation to intimidate them.

There is no justifiable reason anyone would want an athlete to be able to throw a football but specifically doesn't want them to be able to run. And you know it. The league has one too many mediocre QBs that can't get out of the their own way. You and I both know Brady was quite ridiculous in that 4th & 4 he coudn't pick up with his leg in the AFC championship game. It was so bad I literally tried to push him to the first down line through my TV. I do also notice that racists do love to use the race card accusation.

I don't have a problem with the dual threat QB. My only problem is QBs who are solely known for their athletics. Even if my QB can run, which we know Cam can, I don't want him to be known for his running ability, I don't want him to be a specialist in that regard. The most treasured possesion of a QB, should be his accuracy and precision in throwing the ball. If your QB can't do that, who cares if he can run the ball. Running the ball isn't the description of a QB. Let running be a luxury, not the main skill.

lol joke thread. stop it blue boy you will never win...especially calling out super bowl winning qbs lol

you lost the the agrgument last time and now you are trying to bring race in to it. you may have a point to some but in the bigger picture everyone has gave you clear and logical reasons why a qb should stay in the pocket. am i against running..NO...shoot john elway used to run all the time....its just that he didnt depend on it and it was his last option after all his wr were covered. thats all im saying.

you seem to have more of a problem with the offensive system whether than the qb playing. i guess they go hand in hand lol

kap and wilson have wayy better coaches and defense than panthers lol 49ers is a defensive team just like the 2000 ravens. all they needed was a avg qb good enough to make some throws.

wilson doesnt even run that much...mostly when the play breaks down. he has some designed runs but they have the oline to do that. wilson only had about 4 rushing tds with 26 passing tds.

rg3 is hurt. end of discussion. :thumbsd:

Trust as someone who followed the Eagles since I was a kid (my dad was a fan of the team). Mcnabb and Cunningham faced all types of BS from the fan base. Hate mail and all the typical code word nonsense from fans and media.

I agree with that. But ansner me this, what dual threat QB in the current NFL who is known only for running? What dual threat QB is not as accurate or even more accurate than those so-called pocket passers? Here is the short list RG3, Kaepernick, Cam, Wilson. As I mentioned before, if your QB is none of those guys you have no business crying about their health as an excuse. Go worry about Cutler who can't finish a season.

All those guys are accurate, and will get better. I can only speak for Cam in this regard because I follow him more closely than the others. Cam still has more development to go in the passing game. He's not as accurate as he could be, and I fear because coaches will want Cam to continue in practicing his running game, his accuracy issues won't be fully addressed as they should be.

If I were to say the name Cam Newton in a crowd of NFL fans, what skillset will most likely be the first to enter their minds concerning that name?

Well, it doesn't take much to win a superbowl. one team every year will win one even if all the QBs are mediocre. Ever thought of that? For someone on a panther forum you seem quite defensive when it comes to 'pocket passer' needing field goals to win superbowls Brady. I wonder why. Wake me up when Brady does something impressive.

Cutler & Rothlisberger was hurt too. To the detriment of their team making the playoffs. At least RG3 was in the playoffs.

Now if you point that out they call it race card. As though it's ok to treat people that way because they're the majority.

What team your of fan of has no bearing on wether the health argument can be used or not. It's still a legitimate point regardless of your affiliation. I'm sure out of millions there are those use it as a cover to hide there overall disdain.

But there are plenty who bring it up just as a pure point to make.

Cam is not as accurate as he could be but he sure as hell more accurate than that Luck guy people proclaim as the GOAT. Since Luck is such a 'pocket passer' and Cam is not(?), that means all Luck has to worry about is completing a pass and he can barely do that. What does that say about Luck's skill set. At least Cam will also rack up 750 yards.

Although Cam is not a gifted passer like a few other NFL QBs are, for everything else he brings to the table he doesn't need to be. But Luck on the other hand is also not a gifted passer, and if you're not and don't bring anything else to the table why are you being proclaimed to be the GOAT without merit.

And to answer your question, a dynamic dual threat QB who will not leave his teammates hanging on 4th & 4 when the lane is wide open in an AFC championship game.
