So you decided not to answer the question I guess??

I answered the question a few post back.

Actually, no not really. Gettleman is probably following the Giants model. Load up the DL and rush the heck out of the QB, so your secondary doesn't have to be that good. That's why he filled the secondary out with 1 year contracts on middle of the road players.

A middle of the road player can cover for 3-4 seconds which is all they have to do with a good DL in front of them. Add to that the fact that the Panther's have a pretty stout LB corp. that has good coverage skills and when healthy is a top 5 corp in the NFL. Makes the secondary even less important when following that type of model.

To go even further on that, expect the most important positions targeted in the next few drafts to be DL, WR and OL to put talent around Cam and to rush the Passer.

Expect the team to be drafting OL, WR and DL a lot.

The Giants drafted 3 high round CB and a Safety. Injuries made them play with sub par talent in the secondary. they didn't plan it that way.

Im not worry at all. I think we're going DT at 14, but I would have to say that Tavon is the no.1 guy on Gettleman's list of receivers. You gotta think that Gettleman want to have his "Victor Cruz" on this offense. Tavon is the Victor Cruz in this Draft.

I don't even think that is true.

    • This.  He knows where the seam is about to open, cuts, and accelerates hard. He’s slippery and tacklers always seem to be taking awkward angles to get to him. No dancing. Runs low and powerful. Almost never goes backwards for a loss. We’ve rarely had the guy who bounces off of tacklers. It’s nice seeing another one.
    • I can't speak for others but yes I read it. The conclusions are based heavily around the use of the statistical metric DYAR created by football outsiders and used by ESPN for this article. It only includes players whose production began in 2000. But excluding HOF running backs who produced BIG in an iteration of the NFL that was not yet catered to making things much easier for offenses in order for them to prop up more recent candidates is rather absurd and seems like just playing favorites regardless of where one might fall on their opinion of the use of the metric in question.
