CPF96 Mock Draft #1

KK you need to go back and read that again...

Jones weaknesses from pre draft.

Will drop the routine pass on occasion and body catches at times. Was able to consistently separate in college but still developing as a route-runner. Needs to do a better job setting up defenders and getting out of breaks. Willing to go over the middle but needs to show more consistency catching in traffic.

Add that after the combine, Jones blew the wonderlic test horribly and wasn't that great in interviews either.

Atlanta was just desperate for a deep threat.

Also I just posted the information so you could see that both Green and Jones had serious question marks about them. The Jones and a playbook issue was found out in the combine after he flunked the wonderlic test with one of the lowest scores of all time.

no matter what you prove thru facts, scouting reports etc. KKL will not accept CP as one of the top WR prospects.

You know what's funny is you don't think he is in the same class as Green and Jones.

How many times have you asked " Why does a WR have to be a AJ Green, Megatron , Type to be drafted in the 1st round"?

Thanks.

I think KKL is thinking that I make my mocks on who I want the Panther's to take and that's not true.

I do them based on who I think the Panthers will take and I'm usually fairly accurate as to what position the Panther's will take and in what round they'll take them at.

Hill was never considered the top WR, keep reaching tho. and i never said he was in the same level as Green and Jones. anything else you would like to add as my mouth piece?

You thought he was. You thought he was a 1st round pick. Which he wasn't. You were drooling over him after the combine. You ignored all the negatives in his game and argue me down about him. I'm only stating what you did.

You offered your opinion on what the panthers will do. Nobody really knows. I just disagreed with your 1st pick . The rest I can see happening.

a late 1st, yeah he was(produced more then AJ Jenkins who went #30). but they are 2 different players from 2 different systems. lets keep comparing a guy from a wing T offense to a guy who played in a WCO in a pro system. Patterson is ranked a lot higher then Hill.

I didn't like Jenkins either so you will here no debate from me. I thought both were mid 2nd round prospect.

Now you bring up the wing T when last year it didn't matter that he played in a Micky Mouse offense. He was so athletic last year we had to get him. No matter he didn't know all the pro routes and was a huge project.

Didn't you think he was going to be better then Lafell?

    • Of course, everyone has film. That is probably fresh in their mind though. Our games with them are big examples of why they are in  the CB market so hard.   It is the study they do getting ready for the games.  Preparing to play against is a little different than just analyzing film in scout mode. Deeper dive. Then you are analyzing post game too.  This goes to why players often change teams but stay in the division. The opponents know each other on a higher level.  Plus if you lost to us, you used to get fired. Now you have to trade your first round pick. Moving up on the world.
    • I honestly can’t believe this team’s turnaround this season. It’s surreal. Figured healthy we’d be fringe playoffs and with another lottery pick could finally turn the corner, but we don’t even need that. This group is ready. We haven’t played remotely well the last 5 games and yet still blew out 5 bad teams by 16+ each game like it was casual practice. We had a few solid teams with Kemba and Big Al but this is easily our best group since the original Hornets moved to NO. Man, what a shift in culture this new ownership group and front office has brought. So damn happy to see it after years of suffering and consistently meaningless games in this stretch of previous seasons.   Only 2.5 games out of the 6 seed, although Miami, Atlanta and Orlando have been playing well too. Gonna be a fun final stretch, hopefully we can get a top 8 seed at the very least. Celtics tomorrow will be a good test. Would be huge to keep the road winning streak up against a very hot top team on the 2nd half of a back to back. We’ve played Boston pretty well the last few years with much of this same group despite sucking so I do feel pretty good about it. Kon is due for a huge game coming off a few cold shooting games (although despite the poor shooting he’s been contributing well with defense, assists and rebounds).
    • It amazes me how underrated Horn has become after he finally was able to stay on the field. Sure last year wasn’t perfect but he was still a huge reason for our rebound defensively and I’d say he’s easily a top 10 corner. You don’t want to see Mike Jackson as our top corner. Any player is available for the right price but I’d be extremely hesitant to move Horn even for a big haul from LA.
