2 DT's who called that?

I knew Gettlemen knew how important this position is to a football team. He came in and righted a wrong that Hurney kept avoiding. You win from the inside out and now we can do that.

2 major ideas have held this team back form showing consistency and a winning culture.

1. John Fox's Belief in not drafting or having a 1st round/ star QB and constant dependence on Free agency. In a QB driving league that opinion kept us in mediocrity year after year.

2. Hurney total devaluing the DT position. Over and over again he tried to use bandaide on a position that needed a full surgery. If you look at most consistent playoff teams you will see great DT play.

Now we have a Superstar QB and Dline that will strike fear in every offense in the league. Cam will be better and that will make the offense better and we will make teams 1 dimensional from day 1. This draft might just save Rivera's job.

I see a lot of winning season and playoff runs coming fellas. Lets all get ready for a great ride.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOO! PANTHERS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I said I wouldn't mind it, but didn't expect it.

Jack how many years have we watch bad DT bring down what should be a solid defense?

Or unknown RB have career days against us? Final QB being able to step up in the pocket away from our outside pressure?

Well not no more.

Agree, I have NO problem investing heavily in an area of need, especially when guys like Star and KK drop into your laps.

This does two HUGE things for our D.

1. Force teams to be one dimensional

2. Takes away the ability for QB's to just step up in the pocket.

Bonus 3rd- hopefully allows us to cut Fua unless he shows monumental improvement in camp.

Rivera will save his job if:

(1) He reate a top 10 Defense with the pieces Gettleman just went out and got for him in "STAR" and "SHORT". Who wouldnt be able to?

(2) Utilize the talents he has on offense such as the "RUNNING BACKS". Rely on the running game to set up the passing game.

(3) Don't put the game on Cam's shoulder.

An email to a friend before the draft (Semper Fidelis from http://www.carolina-panthers-nation.fr/)

A draft with 2 DTs and no trade down, DT probleme solved, the 7 games lost by just a TD or FG become victories, hello play off.

    • There is a Grand Canyon-sized chasm between your opinion and the opinions of most former player hockey guys who do this for a living.
    • I can only imagine the **** eating grins on the committee right now. "Oh, Bama didn't deserve it? Oh, Miami didn't deserve it? Suck it, haters!" lol
    • To say that, is gaslighting, because it isn’t true. I mean, maybe one or two people do that but it isn’t the predominant behavior. Even Frank has given him credit. I think particularly the Rams game. A couple of glowing posts.   I know I have. Gotta be honest about it because if you aren’t it undermines what else you say.  But the degree of how far I go with credit, in terms of it being a projection of future performance? Not very far. Acknowledge it, but require more of it. There is a lot of bad play to offset.    I tried to remain passive while the last 9 games (post ankle injury) played out. It is just really hard when the lows won’t go away. I failed. As high as a couple of those highs were, there isn’t enough.    I know it is premature to just say I want to move on, made my decision after 6 of those games ended up pretty much really good or not good enough, but I have had enough of being patient and letting him show the reality either way.  So in my view, he Could still validate himself to a decent degree if he smokes the last three starts. But also in my view I don’t expect to see it. Maybe one more high quality start, would be my expectation. So yes he could still somehow justify having the job next year. If that happened I still wouldn’t have much faith given the last three years and all that has transpired. Again, there is a lot of bad play to offset.
