If you were Gettlemen

There is no way DWill's contract pays out in full, it just won't happen. That being said, if a negotiation can be reached, cut him. The money he will get is just too much for the production, and there is no value to the team in terms of impact DWill can have.

When you pay DWill 8 mil a year to get out rushed by Cam, it is a effing joke. It is a disservice to the team and to DWill, who could be playing better football with someone else. JStew and Tolbert along with Barner are more than enough to get the job done on the ground, and there is room for DWill if he were to make 2-3mil a season. But something tells me he wants his money because he earned it, in some ways, with the play he has already given us while being "underpaid."

DWill could have a decent year if he stuck around, and he just might. But not for 8 mil. The future of the team has to be taken into account, with Hardy and Cam signings that need to be done.

If I were Gettleman I would take a look at last years tape, and tell myself there's no way I should cut Deangelo Williams, but rather try to work with him to set up another contract. Deangelo Williams was/is our most productive running back even over 30. Now as to what I would do with the rest of the money I would wait to see who is left after mini camps and after preseason games and bring in a guy that wouldn't be a high market guy for just a bandaid for the year and draft a guard or tackle next year. Save that money that we have this year and have it in order to negotiate resonable deals next year for guys like Greg Hardy, etc.

When we get money, why do we have to spend it right away? Just save it so that we won't be in the same perdictament we are in this year.
