Top 10 Panthers' Games

My list are all wins, much as I wanted to list the SB game against the 'Pats, it still breaks my heart to remember that, so I don't include it here. These aren't in order, I think they're ALL vital in our history..

The 2 Dallas playoff wins, in the '96 and '03 seasons.

The '96 Steelers game where we won the division and first round bye. Cota's interception sealed it in the last moments.

2005 playoff wins vs. the Giants and Bears..

'96 home 49ers game, 3rd game of the season. That showed we could be a force to be reckoned with that year. They were favored to win the division, and that game if memory serves me.

Jake's first game here against the Jags in '03. Truly amazing...

Tampa away game in '03, we blocked all those kicks, showing that we could invent ways to win against the defending SB champs!

Rams playoff win when Smitty caught that bomb in OT to beat them during the '03 playoffs. Yeah baby!

NFC Championship at Philly during the '03 season playoffs, the greatest one yard run I ever saw by DeShaun Foster to beat the hated Iggles.

I have to mention the following for Honorable Mention:

Colts game at Indy in 2003, that win made us 5-0. We won in OT 23-20.

'96 away game against the 49ers, we won on their turf to continue our run to the playoffs that year. The 49ers still had the cream of their team that won the SB during '94, the Steve Young 'monkey year'.

Nice list, and honetly I thought about all of those games...even the thumping of the 49ers in San Francisco in '96. Yes, they were supposed to walk away with the division and vie as a Super Bowl contender. That announced the '96 Panthers as the real deal.

Man...can I mullagan and do top a 20?

    • Yards a game works better over a longer period of time as well. Averages always work out over the long run. The smaller the sample size the easier it is to skew. Also opponents matter more when the size is small. Player 1 lights up 2 bad defenses in 4 starts vs Player 2 playing 10 games vs multiple defenses. It hard to make it apples to apples how it currently sits. Remember during Bryce’s little run last year how annoyed you were when people were pulling Bryce’s starts from week 9 on vs the whole season.
    • Someone else claimed I said EVERY.  Literally in my post breaking it down it gave Bryce TDs per game.   Shough however has the majority in his favor if just looking at starts. whats subjective about comp %, yards, QB ratings and turnovers?  Now I guess the argument one might make off them could be subjective.  But all I’m saying is statistically as a starter he has been better this year overall.  I don’t think Shough is great.  I think he is impressive based on the situation.  2nd rounder stepping in on a bad team.   And he like so many other QBs…..serves as little red flag going off about what we are doing here offensively.
    • Player A - 2 starts.  200 yards in each start. He averages 200 yards a game.  Player B - 1 start.  Throws for 400 yards.  Comes in another random game and has 1 pass attempt on a Hail Mary to end the game that goes incomplete.   Now given the random game he appeared for a snap, he averages 200 yards a game. Thats why you isolate starts. If you are talking starter vs someone who began as a backup.  Simple made up numbers/situations to illustrate the point.
