The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug Trailer

Recommended Posts

yea, the first one was pretty damn bad.

I thought it was a lot of fun. Far from the quality of the LoTR trilogy, but it was funny, the acting was good, the visuals were nice, and apparently it followed the book nicely.

You have to remember that The Hobbit is essentially a child's book, so the movie was bound to be lighter than the trilogy.

it didn't follow the book at all... when you take a 250ish page book and stretch it into 3 movies you gotta add filler.  the first movie was a solid 40% filler... (opposite problem of the last three movies.)

The whole thing just feels like a moneygrab to me.  Nothing horrible about it, just thoroughly mediocre...

though honestly, I am biased and a bit uninformed, The hobbit is my favorite of the books... I fell asleep during the last quarter and didn't even bother to go back to watch it before I returned it.

I understand. I've never actually read it, so I've got nothing to base it on.
