Finally, Charlotte, which already has made a big free-agent signing in acquiring Al Jefferson, is waiting on word from their shooting guard, Gerald Henderson. If they are able to retain Henderson, they'll move on from Ellis. If not, the Bobcats may try to move some players in order to create room to sign Ellis.

 

Waiting to hear what exactly?  Hendo isn't supposed to be able to be contacted by any other teams until the moratorium period has ended.  What is he supposed to know that our front office doesn't already?  Not sure about this...

Really?  I think he is solid defending PGs but he looked over-matched every time I saw him defending bigger SGs

 

Well I'm sure part of it was that he had Larry Sanders protecting the paint. mySynergy has Ellis as one of the better team defenders, but struggled a bit one on one (probably mostly because of his PG size). He closed out on shooters pretty well, defended guys coming off screens well, and shut down PnR ballhandlers. I would still say that Henderson is the better overall defensive player (mostly because he is bigger), and Henderson is definitely a more efficient offensive player (although he doesn't have even close to the same track record of volume scoring).

Someone even pointed it out to them that it was a fake twitter account and BBTB went all psycho on him lol.

 

I often talk to the 2 brothers that run the page, one is super nice and great to chat with, the other one is completely psycho and has a god complex or something.

It must have been the latter that went all crazy lol.

 

What happen was this fake Bill Simmons twitter account (even had the fake blue check) said that Houston and Charlotte were trying to trade for Rondo, then this idiot on a website called FanSided took and rolled with writing an entire article on the fake tweet... Then everyone started retweeting the FanSided article lol.

I think teams can contact but they cant offer.  Tyreke was restricted too but the Pelicans already started talking to him, though they are talking about a sign and trade now

      Yeah the only way current set up is fun is if every year a different tiny school builds a super team and makes a run. You just need 1 rich guy to say you know what would be funny, if I drop 30 million and my school has a shot at a national championship.   They won't ever do it but put some sort of tiered salary cap in place and sign them to 4 year deals. You can only transfer up or down tiers no lateral moves because mean ole coach at texas doesn't play me enough so I'm going to Tennessee. So a player at prairie view can transfer to texas and get paid more or a player from UNC can transfer to UNCG because he isn't getting playing time. If a guy is transferring "up" he can get a salary bump if the team has salary cap space. A guy transferring down has to stay at the same salary as he signed his 4 year deal for so the lower tier team would have to have the cap space to sign him. It would stop the money chasing for lateral moves but allow guys who improve massively at lower schools to make more money as juniors and seniors and hopefully keep more guys in one place because the contract is for 4 years.
