Preseason Divisional Standings

This admittedly doesn't matter at all, but I was curious to see how the rest of the league is doing record-wise in the preseason, so if you're curious, you can go here and find out.

There are three 3-0 teams in the league: Washington, New Orleans, and Seattle. There are five 0-3 teams in the league: Minnesota, Atlanta, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, and Jacksonville.

We are second in the NFCS at 2-1.

How much can be taken from this? Not much, it's preseason, but still it's nice to see us with multiple preseason wins despite our flaws.  And for all of our perceived woes, our NFCS foes are not without their flaws. The Saints have won games but their defense is still incredibly flawed. They are desperate for linebackers, that secondary still needs help, and outside of Cameron Jordan I'm not sure they have anybody really outstanding on that defensive line. The Falcons don't really have a pass rush and their offensive line has looked sub-par. The Bucs... well, I'm not really sure about them, but I think Nicks is still out and Josh Freeman has played like garbage, and it's a popular assumption that his job is being threatened by a rookie.

I remain cautiously optimistic about this year's squad. We have flaws but I think we match up well against our division and injuries to a few tough teams early on in our schedule should set us up pretty nicely.

    • I think i like the Oregon Safety better
    • Do you see the vision?  As of now our Carolina Panthers don’t have an identity. We are not an offensive powerhouse and on defense we only started getting it together towards the end of the year last year. In my opinion we are much closer to having an incredible defense that scares the daylights out of people. I say the answer is simple and we fully commit to that possible identity.    Emmanuel McNeil Warren (E man)  This guy is like a shark lurking around ready to attack anyone. Fearless. He is easily a top 20 talent in my eyes, and the only reason he isn’t more talked about is because he’s from Toledo. Do your due diligence as panther fans and watch his tape I beg you. Once you’re done watching let me ask you this, if you dropped E - Man into the strong safety spot on the Buckeyes, he isn’t being talked about as one of the best prospects we’ve seen in some time given the skill set you see with this guy? I think so. Put his name on the card and turn it in at 19.    Jacob Rodriguez  High effort, High energy, High IQ guy that flies around the field. We all know Jacob at this point. My only concern is he’s a little bit too good and I’m not sure he makes it to us at our pick in the second. With the additions of Jacob and E- Man I think our defense goes to top 5 in the league. We would have a duo of linebackers that rival anything we’ve had in our past. I’m not a GM so I don’t know what the possible answer could be, but if there’s a way we can comfortably trade up in the second to secure this guy I think we find a way to do it.    Spend the rest of our picks fixing the O - line.    Thoughts Panthers fans? Who’s the ideal duo for yall?
    • OL is arguably much more important to the success of a young QB. (Or any QB)
