 RUMORS:

*What you are about to read has not been validated by the Charlotte Bobcats organization*
Once again we have some more news from “the inside”. This has been told to us by a couple people very close to the rebranding process.

They said that at this point in the process a logo has not been chosen yet but they do have 8 potentials for the Hornets. The majority of these and the most popular ones are sticking to original Hugo look but with a little bit more aggressive twist, a more muscular Hugo with “angrier” eyes and expression. Which is refreshing considering the complete “sissification” that happened to the Hornets brand in New Orleans. They realize the value of the brand loyalty and recognition and don’t want to ruin that.

Some logos are completely different but are not getting as strong support as those similar to the original Hugo.

To answer the question that has been bothering so many people. Pete Guelli also said that they have not finalized a color scheme but for the time being are using the Carolina Blue for legal reason not yet fixed with the league.

Now our source has stated that most of the design proposals are sticking with the TEAL & PURPLE as the main colors and may use the Carolina Blue for small “details”. This will give them ability to make more apparel designs.

Again this is all hearsay. Take all this with a grain of salt.

STAY TUNED! We will bring you the BUZZ as soon as we hear

I have faith in the organization that they'll do the right thing regarding logo and colors...really excited to see what they come up with after all the "Buzz City" stuff...which I think is really cool.

When did New Orleans announce their rebrand last year. So I can know when to expect some leaked logos and what not.

I can't give you a specific timetable, but I do know how potential logos were leaked.  Someone on a NOLA forum was related to someone who worked in merchandise/textiles, etc and was one of the companies used to produce merchandise samples of hats with the different logo options.  One of the logos ended up being their main logo and one of their alternates.

I worked for a merchandise company that had liscenes for the Kentucky Derby and we would receive logo options 10 months before...have shirts/hats/mugs/cups, etc made up with each of the logos and send them back to churchill downs..there they would decide what looked best on merch, programs, etc.

Considering the rumors of a logo release in november or december...I'd imagine adidas has merch samples of hornets logos being considered already.

just my opinion.

Charlotte Hornets' jerseys featured a carolina blue pinstripe. Lots of fans never even noticed it.

That's likely because Alexander Julien who designed the Hornets Jerseys also designed UNC's jerseys as well.  He has also expressed entrance in designing the new Hornets jerseys.  Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Julian is a UNC alumni. That is why he threw in a UNC blue pinstripe. Not because he designed UNC's uniform.

    • You're dreaming if you think that's all it would cost to move up from the 51st pick to the 1st round. It would take at least a first next year
