Panthers 1st in league in time of possession per drive

Honestly Shula's offense likely gives John Fox the biggest boner ever.

Shula is dictating his own tempo, controlling the clock, AND putting up something close to 30 points a game.

I would like us to get plays off a bit faster as more plays = more points, but it's hard to complain.

yeah, i would like to get more plays and more points on the board as well, but i'm coming around to this philosophy. i'm only coming around, tho, because it's working. our offense moves the ball and can get into the end zone and our defense is stopping the other team.

i'd like to see us against chip kelly's eagles and see what we do now that we've got it figured out and are gelling. seems like the panthers would love having even more time to burn.

Time of possession really is a huge factor in the NFL. It softens up the opposing team, allowing us to run them down when we're ahead late, and it keeps our defense fresh and ready to wreck things when they get back on the field. It takes away opportunities for good opponents to score and makes it difficult for bad ones. As long as we continue to retain the ball and finish with touchdowns we'll be golden.

    • As the demand for apartments grows parking is becoming limited and it’s sad. I use to tailgate but I just park at uncc deck now and train in and head to rhino market. My tailgate grill hates me.
    • It simply depends on perspective. CMC, when healthy and on the field, has a higher YPC and YPR than LT. Yes, he's been injury prone, but this is simply a "all quarter-century team." There are certainly different stats and different lists. If this were a list or about a team simply based on longevity, then of course LT wins that every time, but some lists are more subjective and nuanced depending upon what they are, and it's not necessarily a reflection upon a person's ability to analyze sports.
    • From my what I have seen the overwhelming majority of people who are considering the notion a possibility don't really want to see it happen but are considering so for a number of reasons. Most importantly availability. Secondly even when he plays the last few seasons he has been red hot or ice cold. Then there is the subject of his defense which to say the least leaves a lot to be desired. Then there is the image of Ball inactive laughing it up on the sideline (while our team was getting the doors blown off) with previous busts who are now relegated to hanging on by a thread in the g league. I think we should be able to recognize with the team going out of their way to put a very strong emphasis on culture and leadership with the conclusion of this years draft that they expect LaMelo to lead the way this upcoming season and that begins with making significant strides and trending in a positive direction in the aforementioned aspects above. It just has to happen.
