Season Passing TD Record Countdown!

Tom Brady and Peyton Manning are proof that the NFL will always have a place for statue QBs. An accurate deep passer who can read defenses is a valuable asset.

There are other ways to play the game though. Cam Newton's time of possession approach is also very valuable. His ability to convert third and short and 4th and short and to punch in two point conversions is huge.

Still, it's hard to take people seriously who mention Russell Wilson and Cam as MVP candidates when Peyton Manning and Drew Brees are setting records. If the Broncos break the scoring record and Peyton breaks the TD record, how can you argue with that in terms of MVP candidates?

So you are a Broncos fan now?

Nah, Always will be a COLTS fan.  (I want my ashes scattered at Lucas Oil Stadium!)

But I still can follow Peyton.

(Even though I hate Elway and the Broncos as a team.)

 2 more TD's in a loosing effort.

4 TD passes left for the record back!  2 games to go.

So you're basically saying that we should continually reward Vets who should be doing what Peyton, Tom, and Drew at their level; throwing to their young Receivers who have a whole lot more pressure on them to catch them damn balls, so their Vet QBs can look good and pad their stats. But when young players like Cam take a dysfynctionally broken team like the Panther, to almost the same record, as Peyton did when he won his first MVP, isn't good enough.

I was under the impression that an MVP meant Most Valuable Player. Not QB with the most TDs and passing yardages? What am I missing?

I always felt highly insulted when other sports fans say that football fans are not the smartest bunch. I am seriously beginning to swallow my pride and believe them.

    • Dave in a presser gassed up Anthony Tyus III and dying to see him on the field.  I mean 3 is all that needed right, and Dan loves etienne. He's one year filling in his body. If brooks is back, toss in chubba, thats 3.
    • After seeing hits in the last two UDFA pools, I do not in this group sorta of a let down after I gassed myself up.  Not like I know of their games, but just expected more. The duke DT only has to beat out hunte (2025 UDFA) or Ray (DL coach's kid) or even Cam Jackson mid 2025 5th.  I thought they would bring in more edges, IOL, TEs, etc...
    • My 2 favorite picks, since you didn't ask? 3. Brazzell II.  A 1000 yard WR with 4.37 speed and checks all the boxes for a Z Wide Receiver.  IN THE THIRD ROUND!!! 5.  Sam Hecht.  I think he will take over as the starter at some point this season and never look back.  IN THE FIFTH ROUND. Runner Up:  2. Hunter:  We were targeting a DT early in this draft because we did very little to replace Robinson in free agency.  Hunter was our guy and he will start. In addition to that, you got a starting tackle that should man one side of the new OL we will build for Bryce's second contract. A starting WR, offensive lineman, defensive lineman and possible Offensive tackle (at some point during this year from this draft will start.  UNREAL. In addition, I don't doubt that Wheatley (5th round) takes the FS job by next year and Lee III is Jackson's replacement in 2027.   Finally, even Kuwatch should be a special teams demon and LB depth.   Last year's draft was so good it was ugly.  This one will turn out to be uglier.  No offense Basbear--this ain't about you.
