Cam and Luck forced to carry flawed offenses

When I mentioned "the media", that was it. One person hear that Luck perform similarly to Cam then deducted that Luck must have ran 4.59 too and write an article about and not even bother to confirm it.

Let's go to the source itself: http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/andrew-luck?id=2533031

Like I said, you've been had by the media.

After a bit more research, I've now seen 3 different numbers.

One is the 4.59 that was reported at the time of the combine, and that's the number the combine commentators reported live.

An article on an NFL.com blog stated his 2 runs were 4.59 and 4.66. The average would give him about a 4.625.

And I see where your NFL.com source lists his official time as 4.67.

Bottom line...it really doesn't matter. As I stated in an earlier post, there is much more to being an effective runner than 40 time. Cam is much more elusive and has far better field vision for picking holes, working around blocks, etc. No one in their right mind would claim that Luck was as good at running the ball as Cam.

    • Damn Logan Jones had a good day too. Was high on him coming in as he anchored that top Iowa line and is a fire plug inside. He's gonna be 25 to start the season so maybe he slips into the 4th but I doubt it, even if C isn't a premium position. His play on the field was top notch and the combine boosted it again. Arm length is about the only knock. But guy is plug and play at C.   This is a loaded class at C. Need to grab one.
    • Bryce will be permanently replaced by a draft pick. There's not another Sam Darnold out there to save us. Tepper is going to see this throw because he dumped Mayfield and Darnold too soon. He's going to give it 1 more year before he will sign off on dumping another 1st round pick qb. Thats the cold hard truth of it. It doesn't mean we can't get younger and much better at the backup position.
    • Maybe I should have used a different word and saved that for me. I want someone that has something impressive about them.  Someone that has potential to supplant a guy who is producing 25th best type of numbers. 22nd, 27th all that bottom third neighborhood.  I don’t know where that will come from it just can’t be from even a 4th round pick this year IMO. Unless FA is crazy productive.    I’ll give Bryce a better than bottom rating for his playoff game. Well above low twenties. But at least half of his games were bottom third level. Probably 2/3 to 3/4 of them were.
