2014 Los Angeles Dodgers Thread

Puig is playing lights out the last 2 weeks. I hope he can keep it up.

The bullpen needs to get their act together.

Puig is playing well now and maturing.

You're right about the bullpen. Our setup man Bryan Wilson has an era north of 10.

Our closer Kenley Jansen is north of 4.

Starting pitching is outstanding, bats need to come alive and the top of the bullpen needs to pull their heads out of their asses.

Dee Gordon may be the catalyst that keeps the Blue afloat while the rest of the roster figures it out. Batting .318 and 25 Stolen Bases already. Incredible.

Nor do you understand anything about MLB history or what was accomplished this evening.

I know exactly what was accomplished...

It's not that difficult to understand.

The no-hitter was cool but it's not nearly as special as the perfect game (which would have only been the 24th in MLB history) that Hanley Ramirez broke up on a routine play for a major league shortstop. Sure the pitch count was impressive and the way Kershaw was mowing them down was amazing (with the 15K's) especially on the low pitch count but the perfect game was there... and Ramirez threw it away.

There was no reason for you to act like a jerk there...

But whatever helps you claim your 'superiority'.

No no for Kershaw was inevitable. Two years ago I used to make sure I saw every single Kershaw start because I just KNEW it was going to happen that start. Doesn't take anything away from an incredible performance. Hats off to Clayton on a great accomplishment. Call it a hunch, but Clayton will be in position for perfection more than once in his career....

    • This while he didn't single handily LOSE the game on any one play.....    He was a first overall pick, one we paid a fortune for..... the bar for him is a 10 foot dunk not a 5"8 children's rim.   32 for 49 for 287 with 1 td and 1 int in two games vs the worst team in the conference, two critically important games that we would be 9-5 and competing for the #2 if he had led us to victory....   Ive given him props for the TD to tet.... it was the best pass ive ever seen him make.....   But putting up these kind of numbers isn't up to par. Defenses stack the box and dare him to throw....  and he still puts up medicore at best numbers.    To win with Bryce young the entire rest of the team has to be absolutely perfect to make up for his deficiencies.... so while he didn't "lose" this game for us..... HE DEFFINATLY DIDNT GO WIN IT FOR US. (Which is the REALISTIC EXPECTATION)
    • His O is just built on taking repeated shots and that’s not BY’s game.  It was always a round peg and square hole…. But I also agree with your post.  I hate OC HCs.  Especially green ones.   I never liked anything about the setup
    • I get that. He's also trying to do HC and OC this year which I think is just too much for him. I think it's hard to call plays from the sidelines. That view from up top helps them see what a defense is doing better. A few HCs can do it because they have the QBs and experience to pull it off. DC has neither. I think DC may have spread himself too thin and Bryce isn't the QB to be able to pull of his end of it either. How much they compliment each other in creating this offensive bleh, yet to be determined. Doesn't really matter because it's still awful.
