Joe Person's Panthers free agency update

That is the point. He hasn't asked for anything. Some guy at cbssports.com is guessing what he wants.

In fact the only thing he has said is that he is open to a hometown discount.

He has asked for money, a crapload of it. He said that the franchise tag of 12 million would work for him till Carolina gets out of cap problems and could sign him to a long term deal.

His idea of a hometown discount was 10 million off a hundred million dollar contract.

He's looking for a brink's truck to be backed up in his driveway. When he was on here and posting and pieing people, I said that he would be asking for big time money and he pied it. I believe the contract I posted was a 6 year deal worth in excess of 70 million dollars.

I came out with this same story a week ago....same headline. Same introduction. Continue following Joe Person for your story's a week late as he apparently waits to read mine. I did find his cap information valuable, but also questionable.

I'm the Panthers Columnist for football.com Not gonna spam my articles every post but this article kinda ticked me off that it was a week after mine, and i question how he came up with the story, titile, and introduction if he didn't read mine.

Nothing would surprise anyone about Joe Person. He's basically a running joke around here. Even Panthers players don't like him. Don't even get us started on the lazy, careless, and irresponsible reporting that he considers journalism. He's the absolute last guy most Panthers fans look to for real news about the team. We support the real journalists.

Yeah I gathered he wasn't very liked around here from reading this post. You can add me to the list as well for personal reasons.

I was going to make a big stink about it to the Charlotte Observer, but the cream eventually rises to the top.

Seeing his name mentioned on these boards for that same article twisted the knife a little though.

As long as the information is reported we should all be happy though, he is the one with the resources to talk to the players and coaches.

    • so the current Carolina Panthers are a team that is in a similar situation that the 2022 Carolina Panthers were in about this same time exactly 3 years ago. & after the 2022 season & missing the playoffs because of a last game of the season loss to the Tom Brady led Bucs  Carolina Panthers brass then thought hey you know what we are just a Qb away from taking that next step & becoming a playoff contender in 2023 .so of course that's what the Panthers proceeded to do when they traded up to the #1 overall pick in order todraft Bryce Young .& here is history repeating itself as it often does & the Carolina Panthers are once again in a close race at the end of the season with Tampa Bay for the NFCS title in 2025  it's took what 3 years now to get back to where we started to begin with prior to drafting Bryce Young  &so tell me once again who is really holding this team back ? ...just saying hRi
    • 1st ⭐️ (25 saves, 2 PP saves, 2 SH saves, 0.962 save%, 1 shot just off goal) 2nd ⭐️  (2 G, 1 A, 4 SOG, 1 BS, 1 dumb penalty, 47.4% FOW, 20:20 TOI, 1 drought ended) 3rd ⭐️  (1 G, 1 A, 4 SOG, 16:28 TOI)
    • Well, looking at it now I would agree that he should cede some of his power and focus on being a leader of an entire NFL program and becoming a better strategist. And leave the details of implementing that to the people he has hired to work under him.  But I am just some guy that gets his info 3rd hand and works off of incomplete info, using assumptions to draw conclusions.
