but whose fault?

I don't think that Gettleman was going to play Mitchell 5 million even if he had the cap space. Mitchell had a good year, but lets stopping acting like he's a great or elite safety. He's been an average / just above average for one year, while he was below average / bad in Oakland.

However you feel like explaining Mitchell leaving Carolina..  But in your statement I was simply pointing out how you said not everything is Hurney's fault and then pointed to something that was his fault.

I tend to agree that Mitchell wasn't worth 5mil and if he actually stuck with his earlier statements that this team was special he wouldn't have needed 5mil to stay...

45 yards a game? You can't be serious.

Type in Google what is 45 x 16?

It goes far beyond just yards or basic statistics. Don't be so naive, do you watch football? It's the key intangibles. It's about leadership, your teammates being able to count on you to make a play by converting crucial third downs, getting first downs, getting yards after the catch, making clutch catches, or bailing out the quarterback by going up and getting a pass when necessary, or fighting for the ball. It's the things like that which separate elite playmakers from the run of the mill receivers that we could sign for dirt cheap to come in off the street to put up some yards and be just another guy.

Sounds like a classic spin argument.  Jake's leadership, Kemo gets double teamed, Williams/Stew are worth all the money because you need two RBs, Foster wearing down defenses for DWill.  Here at the huddle we tend to wear our Panther blinders and dont really pay attention to the rest of the league but lets look at how others around the league did.

Where is Steve?  Oh the paging stops at 40.  You actually have to hit the next page to find Steve sitting at  #49 between 3rd option TE Charles Clay and Emmanuel Sanders.  Wonder how many guys ahead of him did any of that awesome intangible stuff that Steve does.  Charles Clay and Emmanuel Sanders just get regular yards and never caught a 3rd down pass before so Steve should move up about 42 spots right.

Now if you can sit there and tell me that he is the same as Steve Smith, who has literally put the offense on his back more times than not throughout his career here, then you are just deliberately trolling. Which judging by your petty comments, it seems pretty obvious such is the case.

If the offence was put on his back last year it may explain somethings or they could of just gave him the year off so he can carry us the next 8 right?

By the way, I did not say Smith or Olsen were incapable of putting up big numbers. Clearly you conveniently skimmed over the part of my post where I pointed out that we had a top offense in consecutive seasons with both of those guys just a few years ago.

fug me, my head hurts.
