Free Agency Blues Mock Draft

28 - WR KELVIN BENJAMIN, FSU

We all know his name and have seen him play. At 28 there is no WR with his upside. He will be an immediate red zone nightmare.

60 - OT JA’WUAN JAMES, TENNESSEE

His ceiling projects him to LT, with an ability to complete right away on the offensive line as a starter.

92 - OT BILLY TURNER, NDSU

Mean, aggressive blocker who can compete along the line as well. This guy is my favorite OT prospect outside of round 1.

124 - S ED REYNOLDS, STANFORD

Cover two safety who recorded six picks and three touchdowns as a junior. He is a solid wrap up tackler. He lacks top end speed.

156 - WR BRUCE ELLINGTON, USC (Gamecocks)

Smaller dual sport athlete who has a knack for getting open. Needs to refine his routes and has a slight frame.

188 - CB CHRIS DAVIS, AUBURN

Good return man who projects best in a zone scheme.

202 - TE MARCEL JENSEN, FRESNO STATE

Learning the position and right now is a better blocker than seam threat. He is developing in this area though and had the skills to really become an offensive weapon.

Id be pretty pleased with the first three picks. I am afraid Turner will rise into the 2nd round once people put him under the microscope. Not every day you see someone his size with that quickness.

I think we need to go WR in the 4th, someone like Coleman would be ideal.

Last year I singled in on Short pre draft and wanted him desperately. Turner is developing into that guy this year.

That doesn't always mean anything. Coleman has issues against the jam and press coverage. He also won't stretch the defense. We still run a vertical offense based off play action.

He will get off the jam eventually, and when he does all you have to do is throw it up and he can out jump about any DB.

    • I don't really care as much about athleticism and arm strength.  While Murray might be better in that regard, I think Bryce has enough of both to do well in the NFL. The main reason this trade reference is silly is the money and the fact that Murray has been around a long while and hasn't proven that he can perform consistently when the game is on the line.  Bryce has shown that he can play well in the clutch (in the few opportunities he has had).
    • If Bryce can continue the level of play he showed after the benching, then there's a good shot we at least compete to win the division. Tampa is a solid team but even last year in our week division they went 10-7 and will be on their 4th OC in as many years. The Saints are a mess and are in a mist of a half rebuild half still trying to compete mode and will probably be starting a rookie QB. The Falcons are a wild card as they have a really good offense but are we really crowning Michael Penix as a franchise QB after just 3 games?  The only thing I want out of this season is for Bryce to come out and without a shadow of a doubt prove he's our franchise QB. If that happens then most of the fanbase would be happy and I believe we'd be in a good place record wise at the end of the season. Maybe falling just short of winning the division with a chance to sneak in as a wild card team.
    • His daughter's initials are CAM.  Coincidence? I think not
