2014 Draft | Impact Players

Change is necessary for teams in the NFL to stay relevant each season. The Carolina Panthers are getting younger and filling key position on the roster for a power run pro style offense like Seattle & 49rs. The middle of the line will be anchored by the pro C-Kalil who is a master technician in the run & pass game. Amini & Kugbilla provides the guard combo  that has the size, strength, and athletic ability to create true: run gaps & ability to pass protect. Bell provides the most experience at the Tackle position and his strength is in the run game. The draft will provide us another tackle that can win the LT position, or start at the RT.

Cam Newton is developing at the QB position each season, especially as a pocket passer.  Newton went from 1 read and deep balls to  mastering the short & intermediate throws. 2011 was the most productive offense with 2 TE set & zone-read plays, while 2013 gave us a ball controlling offense. I believe the 2014 offense will be a balanced version that can sustain long drives with the run game & 2 TE set. While a "WR committee"  works the outside and provides the deep treat.

Redzone conversion

Key Play at: 1:35  | This play is a QB power run in the A gap where  C-Kalil kicks out NT-Rodger to  LG- Amini and moves to the  2nd level block in the redzone. Amini continues the combo block by moving Rodgers away from A -gap for Newton to run through. This is the kind of  guard | Center combo relationship you need in the power run game. The run committee provides a niche for each player with Stewart being the lead back and Williams for change of pace. While FB-Tolbert provides a weapon for the short-yardage & screens. After the 2014 draft the Panthers will have a balanced offense with improvement in the run and & pass game.

I know it is still early and not trying to criticize in a bad way, but thinking you have 2 RT's in the draft and both WR's and TE are developmental guys.

I might be in the minority, but I think Benjamin will have a bit of learning to do before becoming a starter.  Might be wrong though, as again, the draft is an art sometimes rather than science.

fixed.

Where not going to have a true #1 WR unless one pans out from the draft. Rivera said its more like committee with a presence of veterans to mentor the rookies. Most position are going to be open for the competition and I believe if we draft Cyrus he beat Bell for the LT.
