Rams sign Britt to 1 year, 1.5 million dollar deal

you mean those same core guys that went 7-9 the year before?  You don't want to give credit for the 6 or 7(not including rookies) players brought in last year on one year deals that came in and made a significant impact?

Cheap, as in almost half of your remaining salary cap is hard to pass up for an injury-ridden, guy who can't stay out of trouble?

That's kind of a pathetic comparison. The year before last we lost many games that should have been won. This past year we won games that many think we should have lost. I think we knew we were better than 7-9 then, and now many say we weren't as good as our 12-4 record would indicate. The biggest reason for our success last year was the addition of Star, and Short. Star I think Hurney would have taken, so I don't know if Gettleman's draft did that much for the team.

Cheap as in a very good receiver, that has been healthy most of his career, and was vocal in the locker room. Many players quoted Smith's comments in the locker room, and how it helped change the losing mentality that the team suffered from. Smith also took defense backs out of the game physically, and mentally. He could throw stiff arms and blocks that would embarrass defenses.

"I'm concerned about our receiver corps."

Not foolish.

"Fug Gettleman!  He sucks! Why didn't he sign (this guy I like)?  He hated Steve Smith!  He doesn't like Cam.  He obviously doesn't care about winning this year!"

All very foolish, deserving of ridicule, and all statements that have been made on this board this offseason.

Frankly, I don't really care who's got the worst unit anywhere on the team in April.  Right now 90% of the league has holes somewhere on their roster.  They, and we, have until September to fill them.

If we stil look bad in August, then I'll worry.

I could come up with the similar, passable statements to make most Gettleman worshipers seem foolish. It doesn't matter what someone's opinion is you shouldn't get a free pass to troll and flame others. All you're doing is devolving discussions even further.

Also, you not caring has nothing to do with others opinions or what they think of the team in it's current state.

so should haves, could haves, would haves and probably's but not reality.  and you want others to value your opinion?

again, almost half our remaining salary cap you wanted to give to an injury prone WR that also tends to find himself on the wrong side of jail bars.

I'm not defensive in the least. You said this is a message board for Panthers discussion, so I'm trying to have a discussion. You said that the camp of people that dislike Gettleman's decisions have well thought out reasons on why they don't like move x or move y. Forgetting just how unrealistic that statement is for the sake of discussion is fine, so we will move forward on the assumption that that is true.

You say that people that support Gettleman devolve to name calling and say our focus is just go with it and it's only March, but you are saying it with a negative connotation. So my question to you again is why is my opinion of "it's way, way too early to be pressing the panic button, let's see how the offseason plays out first" any less valid than someone's opinion of "we have no weapons for Cam, is he going to be on the Jets or Cowboys when his contract is up?".

Surely you as a level headed observer and knowledgeable football person can see why the constant, incessant comments like that can make even the most eloquent wordsmith resort to calling these people idiots.

I'm all for debate and grown up discussion, but you are admittedly new here and I'm assuming you haven't seen the rash plague of people coming in here wanting to burn down the stadium and move the team to LA and fire Gettleman because he let Steve Smith go or because we didn't sign Hakeem Nicks.

It has been cut into camps because in the age of smartphones and twitter and social media, people want everything now and if you can't get it now there is often times no rational discussion to be had.

When I was young, we called it a tantrum. Try to have a logical debate with a child throwing a tantrum because it's nap time and let me know how many of your well thought out and structured talking points you get through before resorting to treating the child like a child and just putting them to bed.

That's what it's been like here the last month. And this is in no way meant to be disrespectful to you personally, all new people are welcome here. I'm just telling it like it is.

THIS. Everyone should be forced to read this.

Especially the sky is falling crowd/ DG haters.....j/k

Smith is injury prone and tends to find himself in jail? That's funny I usually enjoy reading of his community work, especially with children. I also love watching Smith jump up after a hard hit and spin the ball in the defenses faces.

i'll say this again gettlemen gets too much credit for the 12-4 season..............my personal disagreements with GM have nothing to do with hate or other bs but his way of running the FO and some very very questionable decsions

bottom line we need to quit trying to be like the Seahawks,Steelers, or NY Giants and be the Fuggin Carolina Panthers
