Let me preface what I'm about to say by saying I would like to keep Wegher if at all possible because I see potential in the guy and what he can offer. But you people anointing him the second coming need to pump the damn breaks. He has looked great on the field... against the 3rd and 4th stringers for each team. He didn't get any meaningful snaps against any talent. That's my biggest concern. Fozzy did, and he still produced. I get that you want to see a UDFA succeed, but my goodness, keep things in perspective just in case he isn't kept around.
I'll be the first to give Benji's drops crap, but his are a different kind of frustrating than Brown and Hill. With Benjamin you know he can catch those balls and you've seen him do it in spectacular fashion, so it's annoying frustrating to see it happen. With Hill and Brown, it's that you have such low expectations that anything they actually do catch is a pleasant surprise. So yeah, give me Benjamin who will catch 9 out of 10 with 2 being spectacular over the guys who catch 50% just because they have no hand eye coordination.
I remember him saying on This is Gross a few years back how much he loves living in Charlotte and how it's a great place to raise a family. Sounds like he's putting down roots which is awesome. I'm glad when anyone wants to actually stay with the team. One of the best backups out there and can start in a pinch.
Agreed. I still don't like Peppers for how he ended things with the organization, and it bothers me that we were right the whole time, that he was phoning it in and relying on physical gifts instead of honing his craft. Still a good article.
