So are you helping the greater good right now?

Last week Coach Calhoun of UCONN was called to task about his salary.

Then today Roy Williams mentioned what he is doing in light of the economy.

We got NFL players getting obscene amounts of money, yes, that someone is willing to pay.

Manny Ramierez is still saying no to the Dodgers offer which is insane to me.

So. At what point do you look outside of yourself for the greater good and how are you doing it right now?

This isn't Left or Right.

I really only care about my immediate family...Might sound selfish, but at the end of the day, they're all that matter to me, and matter little to anyone else.

And, let's face it, we're not far from anarchy as it is...Just witness what it gets like when there is a gas shortage, or if a natural disaster screws the system up...It becomes every man for himself.

You couldnt tell we were even in a financial crisis if you were anywhere near the new Ikea store today. Absurd.

A couple of weeks ago, I gave a significant amount of money to a poor hardworking young lady, one dollar at a time. The way I look at it, I provided for her, her kids, and her live in out of work pimp boyfriend, while at the same time receiving some wholesome entertainment. :)

babysteps..

Not tooting my horn just trying to communicate an idea and a point.

There is a mgr spot that was more or less mine to take. Easily a 5k bump.

I was iffy and not sure if I wanted it or not due to less flexibility and prolly more pressure.

A former mgr of mine at another bank is losing her job in mid March because of a license she did NOT get(good ole investment world stuff) and they are dropping her.

So I told her about the gig. It would be a pay cut based on where she is at but she is going for it regardless.

Thats all I'm saying. Just try to make it easier for the other guy.

Seriously, I am almost afraid to say this, but I feel much more confident about keeping my job than I did in October. The managers for my group have been retained, and it looks like we will be continuing to do the same job, but now for all of Wells Fargo. Basically for my group, instead of Wells coming in and taking us over, we are taking them over. The only issue remaining is how many total positions will be kept.

So now that I am more confident, I feel comfortable spending more money. We have already scheduled a trip to New Orleans in April and will be taking a decent vacation in August, although we don't know where yet.
