Should Canalas bring someone else in to call offensive plays?
Panthering replied to Jackson113.2's topic in Carolina Panthers
No, we should just deal with his inconsistencies in hopes that he improves at play calling and being a head coach during the game. It'll be worth the payoff if it works out, since then losing an OC wouldn't be so penalizing for us. -
We will jut have to disagree on that. Horn has made some plays this year so there was no reason not to have him running that route. He ran a good route, got open and had the ball in his hands. He just dropped it. He'll catch it the next time. I do agree with the terrible play calls prior to that.

Carolina Panthers pick No. 19-2026 NFL Draft
PantherChris replied to PantherBoy95's topic in Carolina Panthers
Outside of Bryce young (whose impact is debatable) we haven't had a no impact top 20 pick in the 2000s. -
Carolina Panthers pick No. 19-2026 NFL Draft

You also give yourself a chance of not having the Jets sitting in the spot you are projected lol -
Honestly even though Bryce impressed me in wc weekend, not a chance he can consistently get the ball deep enough to make use of Shaheed, if Tet has to slow down half the time Shaheed would be useless.

Thanks for the 1600 yards and draft picks

Obviously head scratching that they went to a rookie who they barely let run any routes all season long to secure that chain mover. Bad throw and bad coaching decision to put it on Jimmy when T-mac and Coke were cooking all day. Not to mention the 3 downs before that being horrible play calls
-
Or how about Michael Bates? Man, I miss that MFer. 5x Pro Bowler and 2x AP with us as KR. Or even prime Steve Smith at PR. People forget he was a Pro Bowler and first team AP as a rookie at PR.

Something is off about this team.

Greg Olsen, Ochocinco, Shannon Sharp and Steve Smith have all commented on how he should have caught it. I'll take their opnion. And even if it had been the most perfect pass in the history of the NFL, there is no way that is a TD lol

Carolina Panthers pick No. 19-2026 NFL Draft
kungfoodude replied to PantherBoy95's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yep. Raiders might get a LOT of tempting calls now. Edit: Side note, this is the kind of move directly tied to kid's getting paid. It isn't a big financial risk to remain in school and develop. -
Carolina Panthers pick No. 19-2026 NFL Draft
kungfoodude replied to PantherBoy95's topic in Carolina Panthers
No he definitely hasn't. At all. The trade downs have been as big a disaster as the trade ups. It's not the decisions to do so as much as they immediately squander all the trade resources on bad players. Typically while passing on very good players. -
Carolina Panthers pick No. 19-2026 NFL Draft
Moonraker replied to PantherBoy95's topic in Carolina Panthers
Looks like Moore is officially staying at Oregon. I'm sure that will have a large impact in the upcoming draft with only 1 real top pick QB -
Yep. Our coaching staff is way too dumb to have started XL, Coker and AT.

Mike Kaye’s take: 2026 NFL free agency predictions
kungfoodude replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
100%. It's about planning for the future, having flexibility and contingent players. Worst case scenario(provided the pick is sound) is that you have too many good OT's.- 37 replies

Yes but you are probably looking at Moton off the cap in 2027 and SHOULD be looking at Hunt off the cap, as well. The big monkey wrench will be QB and possibly LT, because even if we jettison Ikey, something has to be done at the position.- 37 replies

I am thinking at the moment be ready to draft OT two consecutive years. We could do one this year, see how he does and see how Icky responds. If we get lucky and Icky my responds well and can come back maybe we don’t have to have to replace him and Moton both. Adjust as needed.- 37 replies

I think Moton is likely gone in 2027, pending whatever happens at LT. We need to be planning for the future and draft a good LT/swing OT/RT. Give yourself flexibility or it will be another panic move and spending wildly to plug a critical hole.- 37 replies

Those two Giants SB wins over the Patriots are probably my favorite SB wins of all time lol. I got to watch the 2011 win live in NY at my apartment on antenna tv with 10 friends

Mike Kaye’s take: 2026 NFL free agency predictions
LinvilleGorge replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
If we sign Linderbaum we'll probably have more cap tied up in the IOL than any team in history. We already have the #2 and #13 highest paid OGs and Linderbaum is probably getting top 5 center money. We had the highest paid OL in the NFL this year by a pretty wide margin (I think about $14M over #2). Add one of the highest paid centers in the league and we're really gonna be limited cap wise on the rest of the roster.- 37 replies

He is a below average starter but we have had far worse and not that long ago at the position. As I said, I am fine keeping him but he should be a reserve and we should be drafting his replacement.- 37 replies
