lol, I'm done with you. Which is why I replied to someone else boss and you still doing what you do.

You didn't list the refs as an option? I'm not just talking about us. Officiating around the league seems as bad as it's ever been this year.

They have had some issues at the QB spot this year. Purdy was injured and missed several games resulting in Mac Jones having to come off of the bench. Still, they have a solid 96.87 passer rating for the season. What's killing them is their pass defense. Their rating against the pass is 101.31! That's terrible when compared to the top pass defenses around the league. The 49ers rank 26 out of 32 teams in stopping the pass. I know they have had some injury issues this year so that could explain why their pass defense is mediocre. Fortunately for them, they are able to be an exception to the historical trend. https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/opponent-average-team-passer-rating

The Case for(or Against) Drafting/Signing a TE
kungfoodude replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think Scourton/Umanmeilen's ceilings will ultimately be potential Wonnum/Jones II replacements and that's about it. Umanmeilen has the higher ceiling but he looks pretty far from being able to reach it. At this point you have to consider them rotational guys and try to get actual elite/starting talent at EDGE. Let them develop as rotational guys and hopefully the light clicks on eventually. I would imagine any/all OC changes will be basically forced by ownership prior to firing Dave. -
I’m really glad Rod finally benched Anderson. He’s only had one start since thanksgiving
-
Nicole? I mean, if the Teppers are lying about being hands off, I get that. But that doesn't sound like Dan Morgan. Also gotta figure they now have a guy from one of the best organizations in the NFL. Can't believe he's wanna stay with that kinda sh-t show

The Case for(or Against) Drafting/Signing a TE
Mr. Scot replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
We're running an offense based on Weat Coast concepts. If you think back over the best versions of that system, you generally find yourself remembering the names of great receiving tight ends. Throw in that unless it's in the plans to try and ship Legette somewhere, we're probably not looking at another wide receiver, so TE makes sense. -
I think they plan on being "light" in the FO so that all ways remain the Queen's ways. JMO. They don't want many dissenting opinions, specifically those that have any sense.

The Case for(or Against) Drafting/Signing a TE

Had to get started on working with the passrushers we got. It was necessary and they do take time to develop. I get it but I would be fine with a 2 or 3 year TE option vs the draft. Yes to a real full time OC please. Good coaches work with what they have so if they have a good TE then start working them in. Line then up off the line if that's the case. Or do a QB sneak. Should open up more for the RBs too if any kind of a decent threat. -
Well, besides Tilis, we also parted ways with Cole Spencer (who I was never a fan of). Definitely possible we see more changes in the front office this offseason. Heck, some positions that were vacated they didn't even bother to fill. We'll see what happens...
-
IDK, at least Rhule would have tried him at EDGE to see if we could get a couple of more pressures on the QB.
-
I could try and predict our future or I could just go straight to banging my head on the wall The plot of this franchise over the Tepper era has been like a bad movie.
-
I agree we are a better team, I genuinely don't believe we are substantially better than last season but it is a step in the right direction, without any doubt. We just need to keep making sure the roster is continually improving each offseason. That's been a massive problem during the Tepper tenure. Almost every offseason has resulted in a worse roster than the year before. In fact, this may be the first time during his ownership that it actually improved.

The Case for(or Against) Drafting/Signing a TE

There are some decent options but mostly in the 30+ crowd that might be a little pricey. IMO, TE upgrade makes a little more sense through the draft IF you can see another TE class like the 2025 class. Evans has been better than I expected him to be but we REALLY whiffed on some serious weapons in that 2025 TE class. I don't expect this to be a priority for our FO at all. We just don't use TE's enough for them to target them, IMO. I think it would be a potentially big boost to the offense but I don't think it's something Dave Canales values, at all. All the more reason to get a real OC in here. -
I do genuinely feel like we're better this year than last year. I'd still prefer to move ahead with a sifferent quarterback, but I'm resigned to the reality that it's not gonna happen. Just gotta hope they're right about Bryce and we're wrong.

I think the OL is the position we should be in the best overall and really are. That's our best group outside of RB, although that will soon fall off dramatically with Dowdle likely leaving. That said, it's a group that should ALWAYS be adding assets in the draft to upgrade. IMO, I would rank our position groups(worst at the top): 1. ILB 2. QB 3. EDGE 4. TE 5. WR 6. DL 7. S 8. CB 9. K/P 10. OL 11. RB

I like the idea of signing a vet TE vs drafting one. That room is really underwhelming and it would open up options and allow them to focus in the draft on the many other areas needing upgrades. -
This thread reminds of the November (Rams) prediction thread. Foretelling Stafford beating us seven ways to Sunday. Bottom line...no one knows especially this season. I channel the great Chris Berman here..... "That's.......why they play the games".
-
Gilbert or Harold Goodwin? I know Gilbert is officially listed as the OL Coach but that was Goodwin's role last year before they gave him one of those goofy "Run Game Coordinator" titles. Far as I know, they're both coaching OL.
-
IDK about what Bryce needs, per se. I posted up a thread with some utilization rates for Canales specifically, so I think there is legitimately a hard ceiling for TE impact in his offense. You think that WR grouping is? I think you forgot to finish your thought on the sidebar.

Thought you were done with this conversation... (for the second or third time) Accusing someone else of gaslighting while pulling out selective stats is ironic enough, but given how you've done in this thread I'm not surprised. You haven't given a single substantive answer, you've dodged questions repeatedly, cut and paste the same stuff about half a dozen times, and for several pages now rather than actually throwing anything relevant out there as a counter, you've just stuck to attacking me. You've lost, dude. Probably best to go ahead and actually take that exit you keep saying you're going to take

He is very much in line with his career averages almost across the board. He hasn't seen the endzone much but that is also probably a reflection of the fact that their overall passing TD's are down quite a bit(Baker at his lowest Passing TD's/GM in his Tampa career). I don't think he is gonna break the bank but it's probably going to be more than I would want to personally pay.
