Lost all interest in the NFL thanks to the Panthers
Joe Bear replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm far more invested in the NCAA than the NFL. That's not going to change. -
I'll put a pin in this discussion by saying that I really hope the team considers forfeiting a few games this season, including the next one. They definitely need to forfeit against Kansas City and spare Charlotte the ignominy of the NFL's first 90-point loss. The Chargers and Bucs are hanging 70 on their own, too.

When you have the worst 45-man active lineup every week, no coach can win with that. He can't scheme talent. You have the worst QBs, worst DL, worst LBs and worst DBs no matter who is on the other side of the field. In all 16 games remaining, the 10 best players on the field at any point will not be wearing Panthers jerseys.
-
For those hoping Canales gets fired: what coach do you think could go 1-16 with this roster? Vince Lombardi ain't walking through that door.

You cannot start Bryce Young again. He is not an NFL player.

The Bengals are gonna win 73-0. -
They're only going to get better after some 49-0, 56-0, 63-3, 62-7 and 63-6 losses before that 98-point beatdown.

Couple months. By then, Clowney, Johnson, Thielen, Sanders, Shaq and Jaycee "Two Games" Horn will have been on IR for a while. That's how they're losing 98-0. -
November 24, 2024: The biggest blowout in NFL history...
Joe Bear replied to Joe Bear's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't disagree, but this team is different. They're going to set every possible record for futility on offense and defense, and you can't count out several interception and fumble returns to get past 60 points in the first half. -

They're gonna get No. 1 in 2025, 2026, 2027, 2028, 2029, 2030, 2031 and 2032 at least. There's every reason to believe we're in for a 50-game losing streak at minimum. -

Carr was terrible. He handed the 2010 Panthers a win. -

I mean entering week 2, this is unquestionably the worst defense in NFL history. The records for fewest points scored, fewest first downs, fewest third-down conversions, most points allowed, most first downs, and most third-down conversions in a season will all be absolutely obliterated this year. They may not score 50 points all season and there's no way they don't allow less than 600. And to top it all off, the Chiefs are winning 84-0 in November. -

They're absolutely losing at least one game 80-0. There's no way it doesn't happen. -

Strap in. We're in for a 40-game losing streak. They're going 0-17 next year, too. -
Everyone should have seen the disaster around Bryce coming
Joe Bear replied to t96's topic in Carolina Panthers
I predicted it in the game predictions thread. -
I concur. This team is the worst in NFL history but there was still effort. There's not enough talent.
-
What? He absolutely was. His first touch was a lost fumble that set up a touchdown. His second one, he fumbled again.
-
Yeah I like Canales. He's been given a lemon for the most part but he's a high-energy guy who could be good if given some good pieces and some freedom.

Against the Odds: Make the Worst Roster Even Worse
Joe Bear replied to RevJ's topic in Carolina Panthers
Brown won't. Horn I'd entertain, but I think Morgan's less likely to be Trader Fitt, the architect of 3-4 playoff teams (but not the one that employed him), and more likely to scour waiver wires and work free agency. Whoever expected a quick fix was delusional. This roster is full of holes and it's not because of the GM and coach who've been in their positions for 1 game. It's because of years and years of sustained ineptitude, poor trades and drafts.
