He knows this staff is going to be fired and that the offensive line is terrible. So what is a coordinator going to do? Ruin their career in a lame duck year. Joe Brady never should've been fired. When you hire a young, inexperienced person, in any job you are making an investment in their growth. That mistakes will be made are understood, however you can't try to use that guy as a scapeline. The Panthers offense was significantly worse after Brady left, which tells me that the problem may not have been Brady at all but rather personnel on the offensive oine.

UNC fans are as bad. NC State fans can be depending on what part of the state you're in. Part of why it's going to be so amazing to see UNC lose to App State yet again.

You DO NOT take a QB with this offensive line unless you have the 1st or 2nd pick. You go offensive line all three days of the draft this year, use Darnold and hope he either develops or then you know for sure to draft someone for 2023, a much deeper class.

I told y'all last Spring that I wanted Micah Parsons over anyone else. I was told he was lazy, didn't have the work ethic or drive, and that he would flame out. I wanted him at linebacker to boost the middle of the defense to help the back four out. Was told that was TURRIBLE... Now here he is 1st team All-Pro and we are debating about keeping Brian Burns, when we wouldn't have even had to ask the question and just re-sign him.

The Panthers problem is the offensive line, period.

Moton and Christianson...or however you spell his name. DJ Moore. CMC. Burns, Reddick, Brown, Horn, and that's about it. That's your core right there.

So you guys want to draft a QB? And likely take one in lieu of taking a possibly elite offensive linemen? No. fug no. Hell no man. You keep Darnold, bring back Cam if he wants to come back, draft two offensive linemen with your first two picks, and hope that in 2023 you have an upper echelon offensive line to possibly protect the QB you draft NEXT year. Grayson McCall in 2023 is who I want. Screw everyone else. I've watched a ton of McCall ball and that dude is going to be the real deal.

Wow, he gave a good explanation on Darnold as well, but you all ignore that. The offensive line is terrible. Bring back Cam and Darnold, build the offensive line out, do not draft a QB otherwise you're just the Jets down south.

It'd all relative to what you're used to. Most guys are basic, plain Jane types that have zero substance beyond talking about football. Mick may say some ridiculous things or make some crazy, off the wall comparisons but it gives his calls depth that others lack. It's not robotic. Personally, it's the end of an era. Another long serving member gone that will be a reminder of how quickly time goes by. I was 13 when he got the job and remember listening to the radio through many important moments of my life: high school, graduations, college drinking games, birth of children, purchasing a home, etc. There's a lot wrapped up in teams you follow closely for a long period of time.

The only thing worth trading for is a Pro Bowl level offensive linemen and a draft pick. Otherwise, you keep CMC. He's well worth the investment when he plays.

I just haven't watched closely. Once Cam played at Miami and I saw the line, then I saw the headlines blaming Cam, I turned it off. This problem is not Darnold or Cam. It's the offensive line. Darnold and Cam are both good enough to make playoff runs if the line play is average and right now we have the bottom 1%. Silver lining: we have the two tackles figured our, you can get decent guards in Free Agency and the draft, so all you need to figure out is Center.

Hm, has he had success? Every game I've watched since McCaffrey went out sees whomever is playing QB on the ground within 1.5 seconds, whether they throw the ball or not.

Would rather take Grayson McCall in 2023. No QB is worth drafting this year. Let Darnold play out his contract and go HARD after the offensive line. Hopefully you can snag two worthwhile guys, let them play out 2022, by 2023 they will have some experience and then you draft a QB. No need to draft a QB in 2022 if you can't address the offensive line. Darnold would be fine if he wasn't on his butt every other drop back. Getting hit with that frequency will result in poor decisions when there is no pressure, as we've seen and he's been criticized for. But there is an element of trust missing and Darnold can be sure that there are high odds a defender will be in his face almost every snap.

Darnold isn't the problem. Cam isn't the problem. Hell, PJ Walker isnt the problem. The Panthers entire offensive line except for Moton needs to be scrapped. He didn't have time to throw on every, single, drop back in the 2nd half. What do you want him to do? Get hit literally every time he drops back to pass. Darnold could be fine with even an average offensive line.

That "finally" becomes a successful head coach? What about his tenure with San Francisco was not successful?

Should've kept Rivera and let him build out the 3-4 the way he wanted. He bled black and blue and that counts for something. You don't fire people just for the sake of firing them and Rivera was proven to be a good coach. Rivera with Fitterer would've likely enabled us the ability to turn things around.

So in QB years, not a lot of difference there. Darnold could be a guy. The Panthers could've drafted Fields and we would still be just as screwed. This offensive line is horrible.

What is Rhule's buy out? What are the odds the next guy who comes in doesn't have to start a new rebuild process and set Tepper back another two years? I'm inclined to think Rhule is given a 3rd year. If he could address the offensive line, and maybe turn over everything non-coaching related to Fitterer, the Panthers may be fine. Though I personally believe rhat firing Brady is grounds for termination. Would rather them have fired Rhule and kept Brady as interim.
