  1. Do we have any people on this forum who are extreme football experts. For instance you're obsessed with football and know way more than typical fans. This question is for you. What would the Texans be willing to accept realistically as a trade for Watson?
  2. It's all about the QB. You're not going anywhere without a great one. We're spinning our wheels until we make a move to land Watson, or hit in the draft.
  3. Expect the bottom of our roster to be churned like butter. They'll want to keep cycling and shirting through trash until they find someone overlooked. The only free agent deal I want done is you know who.
  4. The QBs at 8th pick look extremely dangerous of being busts. Trey could be a whopping bust, and Zack as well. Taking a QB at 8 is a nail biting risk, and if we miss we're screwed long term. If we hit it's still going to take a while for the QB to learn the system and be effective. I say offer the Texans more than what other teams like Detroit and others are willing to offer. We need to offer the top deal. That's the only way we'll have a great team in the short term. Otherwise expect the next couple of seasons to be very painful.
  5. I have a problem with Shaq's contract because I don't want any expensive LBs on the team at all. Ever. KK's body fell apart rapidly and it was bad timing contract wise. I don't mind paying big money for pass rushing DTs in principle though. KK = Ok but bad timing. Shaq = bad contract in principle.
  6. 10. I always start every season at a 10 for enthusiasm no matter how poop our roster might be. Even if our QB is just middle of the pack or worse I'm still as excited as possible to start the season. Now once we're mathematically eliminated from the playoffs I am excited to lose to move up the draft board.
  7. We need to offer the Texans a very good deal, but not a crazy wreck our team deal.
  8. Drafting a QB would likely produce a losing season.
  9. Adding Deshaun Watson would give us a playoff team next season imo. Having an already trained and experienced QB with a high level of talent going against the Brees-less Saints, grandpa Brady a year older, and the pitiful Falcons = PLAYOFFS.
  10. Now some may think that I'm not thinking about the defense and you need some balance to win. I do want 1st round defensive players on the d-line. Load up the d-line AFTER we have a top quality passing attack. Right now we have an o-line that makes our journeyman QB fearful, and he tosses the ball too short or throws it away when he smells trouble. That's how journeymen play. Gettlemen tried to warn us about this type of player. They avoid injury, play by their own rules, and point fingers at other players when things go t!ts up. They always have excuses, and things are never their fault. We need to avoid the journeymen type of players like the plague because they already have F-U money, and they are selfish. Our o-line needs to be a like a stone wall, and the expensive draft capital to build it is well worth it. Spend on the o-line, then turn your attention to rushing the QB.
  11. I don't want FA LBs because they tend to have something wrong with them. Like they are dopey and screw up too much, or they have a physical injury they are trying to hide. It's best to draft smart LBs with fresh legs later in the draft. They'll never be superstars, but who cares? Just be smart and execute the defense as it's called. I you get beat then that's ok because so do the rest of the LBs in the league.
  12. We have to totally change our dumb blue collar linebacker mentality. That old school Steelers outdated blueprint that the lord of creeps brought here has to be purged. I don't want a lunch pale tough guy try hard team with a mediocre offense and 1st round defensive players all over the field. That is so stupid in this day and age. That was fine in the 90's for the Steelers. We need to move on.
  13. We can beat up on bad teams with good defense, but who cares? Beating bad teams just helps those bad teams draft ahead of us. It helps them! Our team is TRASH! Draft the o-line, QB, and weapons now. Yes more weapons. More. Our TEs are poop.
  14. Think in terms of what we need to have a winner long term.
  15. Rhule wanted to gut the roster to rebuild it, but he knew if he gutted the already bad defense we'd go 0-16. So he poured defensive picks into the defense and he got the couple of wins everyone was expecting.
  16. If you look at the weapons the Bucs and Saints have, and their o-lines as well, then you can see how to build a modern football team. Either one of those teams have what it takes to win the SB, but Brees is a little too old, and they ran into each other in the playoffs. Those are smartly built teams with a focus on QB, o-line, and weapons first and foremost, and you see the results. Same thing with KC. It's not rocket science. Are we going to be a Ron 2.0 team with a ton of expensive defensive players having the ball tossed over their heads for TDs? I hope not!
  17. The Saints and Bucs are the class of the NFCS, and we're not going to out compete them by collect top LBs. If Rule isn't thinking "QB, weapons, o-line" then we're in deep trouble. If he starts spending picks on the defense yet again then we're going to get yeeted. If our identity is our defense then we know we're ever winning a SB. Not happening.
  18. Our blueprint for building this team should be young LBs acquired later in the draft. If one of them starts to break down physically, then just dump him and pick up another one later in the draft. Shaq is massively talented, but all you hear on gameday is fans ripping him a new one. That's because LBs are no longer that effective against good modern defenses. Just like Luke (epic talent) looked like complete trash against teams like the Saints. He got roasted. We have to have a smart blueprint to rebuild this team. Build up a dominant passing attack. Period. No 1st round LBs.
  19. If the bpa at 8 is a Lb then you look for a trade partner. We already have an expensive 1st pick LB with great athleticism. You don't win today collecting top quality LBs. They don't effect the game enough to matter, the ball is tossed over their head down field, and to make matters worse Parsons is not good at defending the pass, so we'd get wrecked. No more bad decisions. We need to build up our passing attack in the draft until we are a dominant passing team. A LB can be added later in the draft if needed (P.S not needed).
  20. The most likely pick at 8th is Trey Lance imo. When a team knows it doesn't have its franchise QB the top priority is obtaining one when possible, and we're in position to possibly do so now. Wilson is going to come off the board too quickly for us to have a chance, and the trading up thing is wishful thinking. The reality is that we have a good chance at drafting Lance at 8th, and he's a better physical specimen than Wilson anyway imo. These other positions like LB, TE, ect, can be obtained in the 2nd or later rounds. Lesser important positions should not be filled with 1st round draft picks if you want to win.
  21. The greatest threat to human existence is not nuclear war, but rather a lethal viral outbreak that will likely pop up out of dumb f@ck China if we let them carry on with the current government.
