You're ready to jettison him based on your overwhelming desire to have a shiny new QB that isn't elite. Just to say you have one. If anyone has blinders on, it's you. You WILL NOT nor CANNOT accept the fact that Corral, given the opportunity, could be our QB. You just want your shiny new toy. And without a LT it doesn't matter who is under center you're going to have a problem under center. His grade fell mostly due to non-football related stories that were so overblown. Fortunately for us, he dropped. Many teams may have wanted him, and we wanted him bad enough to trade a 3rd round pick to get him.

Ron is a good coach but he's too damn loyal to veterans and people he's known for several years. I agree, Hurney will keep Ron from succeeding. Say what you will about Ron but he has a great defense. Plus, if I were him, I keep Heinke at QB. Heinke has that fire we used to see in Jake.

The only thing about sitting out a couple of years is you become an afterthought. Then if he gets back into coaching it's probably a Temple type of program. It's better for him to get back into coaching now, to Dave Tepper's delight, while he's a hot commodity. Nebraska used to be a powerhouse. I'm sure they'd love nothing more than for Rhule to turn their program around like he did Temple and Baylor. Plus Snow ain't getting any younger

Two things about Kiffin. One he's been in the NFL before so there is less of a repeat of Rhule with him. Secondly, Kiffin knows Corral inside and out and we'd be able to draft a different position and just bring in a veteran like Minshew until Corral is ready to start.

When he is on, he's one of the best but when he's off he's on the hotseat.

When you think you are smarter than your coaches that's how you get quality players sitting on the bench. Talking about Rhules ineptness how about R. Higgins we signed as a free agent and hasn't contributed much, if any.

What I find hilarious is that all you you that are defending Lance are the same ones that are calling Corral a bust. Lance had a full season to understudy and looked abysmal in his 1st start. He received plenty of reps and yet Corral who received zero reps with the 1st or 2nd team. He's a bust. Got it.

Doubt it. Lance did not impress me before the draft and he didn't show much after being an understudy for an entire year. He started running as soon as pressure came up on him. He'll get figured out and he'll bust. SF tried so hard to get rid of Jimmy G. They are so lucky because if Lance had stayed healthy they would have been in a worse situation than us.

Temperatures are expected to be in the high 60s/low 70s. - Some light to moderate rain is expected during the game. Not quite a hurricane. He was terrible and he had more runs than completed passes. He's not going to translate to the NFL. You call me a joke yet you write off a QB that got no reps in real practice and call him a bust. So who really is the JOKE. NOT ME.

Tell me what the difference is? Other than we used a 3rd and SF used 3 1st. Both are injured, but because you wasted 3 firsts on a shot in the dark you are going to ride with him a couple of years. SF was lucky they didn't trade Jimmy G away or they would be Fugged. You'd be ok with allowing Lance to fumble around for a couple of years, but you won't give Corral a single season to show his worth. What is sounds like to me is you want a QB in this draft regardless of how good he is just to get past Corral. I think you'll be in for a rude awaking when Corral, at minimum, is competing for the starting QB position next year. I would imagine if they get a new coach, which they won't, but for the sake of argument. They aren't going to draft another QB (especially since they won't have a 1st to pick with) unless it is late day two or day three.

Look at the 2021 NFL draft 1. Lawrence - has not lived up to the Hype. Jacksonville is a mess and no telling his ceiling. 2. Wilson - Looks pretty solid but I wouldn't call him Franchise yet 3. Lance - SF made a huge mistake. Hasn't played much and when he did, he got hurt and was running when he got into trouble. 11. Fields - at the moment probably the best QB in his class. BTW I was an opponent of Fields but he's showing he is going to be around a long time. So, I eat a bit of crow on that one. 15. Jones - Not spectacular but has New England 1 game out of 1st. If you had to judge them to date. Fields, Jones, Wilson, Lawrence, Lance. What I take away from 2021 is Tanking for a QB doesn't necessarily answer your problems. The best QB in this draft IMO is Fields. 2022 20. Pickett he's a rookie and hasn't been too bad but not great either. One of their wins was because of Trubisky not Pickett. IMO Trubisky looks much better than Pickett but as I said Pickett is a rookie. 74 Ridder hasn't seen much playing time. I would expect him to play once Atlanta is eliminated from the playoffs. 86 Willis has started a couple of games and doesn't look too good. Time will tell 94. Corral we all know his situation still an unknown 137 Zappe has been up and down but has played well at times 144 Howell hasn't started yet and Heinke is starting ahead of him. Probably being brought along slowly If you had to judge them to date. Pickett, Zappe, Willis, with Corral, Howell and Ridder as unknowns. I don't see Washington or Atlanta scrambling to get a QB in this upcoming draft Though many want a QB in this draft I won't be surprised to see us going elsewhere with our #1 pick or trading down and gaining assets for next year.

Hurney may have had it right and maybe he pulls the trigger on him but FHULE over road him and went defense. That reiterates the "GET IT RIGHT" mentality. Herbert was considered a Franchise type of QB. I don't see one in this draft class. Last thing we need to do is trade away picks, we don't have, for a MAYBE.

OK genius, answer me this. What do you think about Trey Lance? He's injured after a game and is on the IR list. You're the GM of SF, do you go ahead and draft another QB because he's still an unknown?

And just like in Chess you play to win. You don't lose on purpose so you can play an easier opponent. @Mr. Scot stated. Wherever your pick is. Get it right. Our GM has a scouting team and hopefully they vet all the players based on ability and not hype. I see several QBs in this draft that could be had in the 2nd round and be as good if not better than the hyped-up players ahead of them.

Where am I saying we were tanking? Where did I say I want Darnold to start so we lose? I said, I READ where they may play Darnold. As long as Mayfield doesn't meet the 70% of snaps, we get our 4th and Cleveland gets the 5th. You're nitpicking and trying to make it sound I am back and forth. I'm not. Grow Up.

HC is possible, franchise QB (in this draft) I doubt it. I find it funny that so many of you attack the anti-tanking group as if you're right and they are wrong. This team isn't going to tank. I don't know how you expect them to tank. Outside of the NBA, most professional sports teams play hard until the last whistle of the season. I'm an anti-tanker and hope we win as many games as we can. The QB position will work its way out. There are several QBs starting to show they can play in this league. It isn't just Young and Stroud and the rest.

I mentioned him last year when he was playing for Indiana. He was really impressive with a crappy team. I would love him on a day two pick to compete with Corral.

This, I also saw where Darnold may get some opportunities to start. As long as we move that pick to a 5th rounder instead of 4th.

Better idea than Tanking for a QB.

What part of the players aren't going to tank for a draft pick. You consistently bitch and moan that we win a game. Tanking is a term for Fans. Yeah, I get you think that one of these QBs in the 2023 MIGHT be the answer. They might not. You realize if you pick the wrong QB in a draft you set yourself back 3 or 4 years. Franchise QBs aren't available every year. Games are meant to be played to win. Not lose so the Huddle can start planning our next QB.

Yes, I agree. I love watching him once he gets the ball in his hands. He runs hard and breaks tackles. I just wish we would get him the ball more often. A good Offensive minded head coach or OC will figure out many ways to get him the ball. Props to Fitterer for trading for him.
