  1. i hear next week Rhule is giving Mayfield his Carolina Letter Jacket with a big C and a football pin.
  2. Debatable. He was on some pretty bad teams but not because of him. Flutie was like Jake. He had an amazing competitive spirit that nobody wanted but had to have on their team. For a little dude he had a great arm. I know this has no relevance to the topic, but his Hail Mary against Miami is probably top 10 in NCAA football moments. What a game.
  3. I am not arguing that but to speculate that we are already considering it after one game is BS. He showed that he can pull it together and get us back in a game we should have won. Getting us close to a win is not a sign that he's a franchise QB. If he plays well going forward and we start winning, of course, but at this moment in time. No one in the Panther Organization is leaning towards resigning him.
  4. No way they are thinking about resigning him after one game. Hell Darnold looked ok through 3 games last year and we see what that got us.
  5. Tepper talked so much smack when he got the team. "All I want is wins" He talked about building a winning culture around here but the only culture he's building is Detroit South. It's embarrassing. Firing Rhule so soon would ruin his ego that he always makes the right decision. I think deep down he wants to let him go but then he would have to face scrutiny from the media as to why so soon. I think he hatss having to address that issue.
  6. The refs throughout the league have a very bad habit of trying to inject themselves into the outcome of games. I saw way too many calls that should have been let go. Many calls of the same offense let go early in the game. Sometimes it makes me wonder if Goodell has his hand in the cookie jar when it comes to close games and what makes the NFL more prosperous.
  7. We had a Cleveland team that was set up for a defeat, We have the last place NYG from the NFCE last year and three more home games against rival N.O. and Arizona, SF from the NFCW. If we come out of this 0-5 or 1-4. Tepper better pull the plug or we're going to see a riot in Panther Country.
  8. Phil Snow = Chip Kelly on the defensive side. I know Rivera had his moments but he was and still is a very good defensive mind. I remember saying to all those that wanted Riverboat Ron gone. Be careful on what you ask for. You just might get worse. I'd have RR over MR in a heart beat. Just as long as he leaves Hurney and Shula in DC. In our case, we got the bottom of the Barrel. Chinn and Burns will be up for contracts at the same time. We are going to lose one of them if someone doesn't get this clown out of Charlotte.
  9. Really great stuff. You analyzed it perfectly, Let's hope we see a gooa analysis from our coaching staff. Hopefully, Baker is smart enough to trust the play and see the whole field. He can't continue to let open receivers go without passes. Maybe he's not fully comfortable with the offense but he better get it quickly.
  10. Seriously, why sign Bozeman at all if they plan to make him ride the bench. Could have used that money elsewhere and develop a rookie for backup center.
  11. Seriously, did Rhule think a game one rookie was going to be perfect against Garrett. It is those type of decisions that are going to cost us game after game. It's already happened once and it is only game 1.
  12. I get you, but less than 20 touches is just not going to get it done. Too many times he was a decoy. If you are going to put him on the field he needs to be an option not a decoy.
  13. Yeah I know and unlike Tepper, Jerry Jones will open 2 banks to get him there. Plus didn't he come from there when Parcell's was coach?
  14. It really depends on how high of a draft pick. As bad as we looked yesterday there were several teams that looked even worse. If we get a top 5 pick I just don't see us passing on one of these elite QBs. I like Corral and believe he got a very raw deal during the preseason. Rhule should be shot for the way he handled Corral's situation. That said, it depends on who's available at our draft pick. If they are elite surefire starters, I think we'll take one. If they have potential, like Corral, we may go elsewhere for the pick. Don't forget if Baker has a great season we may have found our QB. Sadly for me I didn't get to see much of the 2nd half but Baker got us back in the game and it was only a bad call by the refs that cost us the game.
  15. You can hate him all you want, and I do, but this man made Drew Brees a HOFer. He's good with QBs and if, GOD PLEASE IF, we fire Rhule, Tepper needs to be on his private jet before the power is shut off on the new conference heading to Payton's home and giving him whatever he is asking.
  16. Rhule's first half game plan got mixed up with his son's flag football team. Every play was a pass. Absolutely stupid game plan. I get the idea we don't want to over use CMC but crap, using him as a decoy the entire first half isn't getting it done.
  17. Yeah they look pretty atrocious but that is what happens when you juggle your offensive line all preseason and don't give them a chance to jell. There should be no reason why our O-line looked worse than 2021 other than not having much time as a unit. Defense played much better in the second half. I think it is pretty clear that they were gassed in the first half. Hell I think we had negative yardage most of the 1st half until Thomas's 50 yd catch.
  18. If Tepper is not sitting in his booth embarrassed as hell than the problem starts with him.
  19. What gets me is we had 2 @#$@##$$% weeks to get ready for this game and we look like a bunch of friends that showed up to play pickup football. It's embarrassing. Being a total optimist is getting old. We look terrible.
  20. 8pm here. I got my football App ready to go. Praying it works. It works great for college football so my hope are pretty high it works for the NFL. It has its own header.
  21. When it was -2.5 I also saw where it said Cleveland had a 61% chance of winning. Maybe that is why they dropped it to 1.5. I don't bet so I really don't follow these guides.
  22. As great as the passing game can be, it is and always will be teams that can run and stop the run are usually playoff teams. We have to stop the run, Period.
  23. I used to love watching football games in the Mud. About 4th Quarter the only thing that differentiated one team from another was their helmets.
  24. All of these predictions are a bit wild. NFC North Minnesota still has to go through Green Bay. Cousins needs to protect the ball a bit more and Minnesota needs to get over their yearly curse. NFC South Carolina. This is possible with or without Brady being great. They have a tougher schedule that we do just because they are playing divisional winners from the NFCN and NFCE plus the AFCW divisional winner. I said before we need to win those three games of the last place winners of NFCN, NFCE and AFCW. Beat Atl 2x and split with NO and TB. That's 5 wins. Plus match the win total against the NFCW and AFCN. It's possible NFC East Philly did a great job in the offseason and will be tough especially with Dallas hoping 40 yr old Peters can play one more season. Dallas IMO is more mixed up than we are. Washington doesn't really scare me too much. NFC West 49ers seems a bit of a reach. LAR are SB champs and have added some more weapons for their offense. Stafford may be the key. They say he's alright, but we heard the same thing about Cam. Lance has the tools but he looked extremely shaky in preseason. Arizona seems to have everything but falter down the stretch. KM will be playing to make a statement. I could also see the 3 wild cards switching with the projected winners with Brandt picks being WC.
