These are the facts. Tepper is pretty much handcuffed to Rhule for at least another season. It’s worth the rice roll to see if he can turn it around before he eats the rest of that contract.

I’d take their roster and coaching staff over what we have now 100 times out of 100

The rush defense is terrible

Many think Bill O’Brien was trying to get fired making moves like trading DeAndre Hopkins

I’m already very excited about the MLS season and watching Austin FC. We have season tickets and the team seems very well put together and has done a great job with fan engagement. We play Charlotte FC and it is with every fiber of my being that we beat the living tar out of David Tepper’s excuse for a soccer team. I haven’t lived in NC for over 11 years now. If/when Central Texas gets an NFL team, I’m out.

There are people on the huddle that would do a better job than him.

It’s time for ESPN to fire that clown. I know his wife left him a few years ago and he had a cancer scare but at a certain point you just have to do your job. That statement is either intentional misinformation or he’s a genuine moron.

Another double digit loss season incoming. I’m gonna bet on it. -
The players probably all love Matt because he doesn’t push them out of their comfort zones to be great. Rhule coddled Sam Darnold the entire time he’s been on the Panthers. They didn’t bring in any competition for him, they picked up his option before he played a down for the team, and he barely played during preseason. I get being a players coach but I couldn’t give two flying f*cks how the players feel about the coach when the team performance is a 12 loss season.

After thinking about it, if I were Tepper I would probably keep Rhule

If it was just Dallas that would be one thing but as I noted in my original post, the Panthers have given up 100+ rushing yards in 9 games this year, all losses. They gave up 150+ in 5 games. You rarely win games giving up these types of numbers in the run game. Dallas - 245. Minnesota - 198 New England - 151 Washington - 190 Tampa Bay - 159 The Giants, Dolphins, Bills, and Falcons all topped 100 yards as well. Let's not sit here and say this was a good defense.

If Tepper really decides to bring back Matt Rhule for another season, after I finish vomiting, I will pound the table for the Panthers to hire NFL caliber coordinators on BOTH sides of the ball. Phil Snow is the lesser of two evils on the Panthers coaching staff. But the cold hard fact is he's a Matt Rhule bro. Matt Rhule's bro I was critical of the Phil Snow hire immediately given his lack of upward mobility in the NFL. The highlight of his career including being the LB coach of the winless 2008 Lions. And let's not kid ourselves, the defense wasn't as good as the numbers indicate. Was part of that on the offense for failing to ever sustain drives? Yes. But let's not sugar coat it. The rush defense was f*cking terrible this year. The Panthers gave up 100+ yards on the ground in 9 games this season. All losses. I'm firmly in favor of moving on from Phil Snow if there is a proven NFL caliber DC who could be brought in to right the ship. Vic Fangio checks all the boxes and could serve as an interim head coach if/when Rhule is fired. The thing is, the Broncos have similar issues to the Panthers with lack of stability at the QB position. Their defense has some talent but hasn't been able to carry the team the way their 2015 defense did. And unlike the Panthers, the Broncos were able to beat a few teams with a winning record this year. Fangio is still a very good DC and probably a better DC than head coach. I think given the talent the Panthers have on defense that Fangio might be a great fit with this group. But we will probably still see Phil Snow as DC running college style formations and getting bodied up in the run game to the tune of a few 200 yard games on the ground next season. Sigh.
