  1. I made a thread right after Rhule was hired that nepotism would ruin his tenure here. He was wildly unqualified to be a head coach and needed some NFL vet coaches to make this work. Instead they hired a OC who was just as inexperienced and Rhule’s buddy Phil Snow whose NFL experience includes being the LB coach for the 0-16 Lions in 2008. The clown show continues. All we can do is laugh and watch Tepper waste millions.
  2. Every step of the way was failure with Darnold. Trading for him, picking up his option, not bringing in any competition or a veteran mentor, coddling him in the preseason minimizing his snaps, and playing him after the season is well over with when a Panthers legend who has been more effective than him on far less snaps plays his last games in a Panthers uniform. It’s just a comedy of dumb decisions. Par for the course when it comes to this low IQ franchise.
  3. That’s a common billionaire move. He probably has a house down in Naples where all the hedge fund managers retire. They all buy the land and bulldoze the multi million dollar homes on the land and build their own house.
  4. He’s not building a HQ in Rock Hill and purchasing the Pipe and Foundry land to move the team. He’s just has absolutely no idea how to build a winning football team which is all anyone here cares about.
  5. Cam didn’t score the game winning touchdown on the one snap he played. It’s all his fault. Burn down the stadium.
  6. It’s on everyone who traded for him. Fitterer? Did Tepper sign off on this? It’s just such a horrible situation that it’s embarrassing.
  7. I mean, Rhule wasn’t Darnold’s head coach on the Jets. He also wasn’t his coach in college where he was also a turnover machine. Darnold has sucked his way to being an NFL starter because of reasons I truly don’t understand. He doesn’t even LOOK the part. Darnold is f*cking terrible!!!
  8. Matt Rhule is a fraud. All it took was looking at his record as head coach of the Baylor Bears to see he wasn’t a good head coach. Rhule was 0-11 vs ranked teams in his tenure as head coach at Baylor. David Tepper gave him a top 10 richest contract for a head coach. Matt Rhule was always going to be a failure in the NFL. He wasn’t even a great coach in college. Rhule hired all his friends and they aren’t qualified to be an NFL coaching staff. There is no justification for keeping Rhule for a 3rd season.
  9. 1) Trade for Sam Darnold giving up a 2nd, 4th, and 6th round pick. Darnold was the worst starting QB in the NFL in his first 3 seasons. 2) Pick up his $19m 5th year option before he played a down for the team. Again, the Panthers guaranteed Darnold $19m before he even put on a Panthers uniform. 3) Passed on Mac Jones and Justin Fields in the draft. Did not sign a veteran FA to be a backup or possible starter. Zero backup plan in the likely case Darnold was a failure. Instead, they drafted a cornerback, a luxury position for a team in search of a franchise QB, and allowed Matt Rhule’s friend PJ Walker to be the unqualified backup. 4) Continue to play Sam Darnold late in the season despite the fact he is incapable of completing a pass beyond the line of scrimmage, and Panthers legend Cam Newton probably will not be on the team after this season. I just can’t see how you can keep the people in charge after this. You can’t trust them to make a sound decision at the QB position.
  10. LOL @ people still defending Darnold. I guess he’s just had a bad offensive line for 4 seasons in the NFL. He’s definitely not the worst QB in the NFL throughout his career. Definitely not! It’s everything else!!!! Darnold is god.
  11. Keeping Matt Rhule another season would literally be the dumbest thing this franchise has ever done short of trading the next 5 years of first round picks for Deshaun Watson
  12. Darnold is making $19m USD next season. Can’t complete a pass beyond the line of scrimmage. Fire everyone.
  13. I was just about to say it’s super suspicious they are saying all these positive things about Rhule right now. It’s like the WWE. Gotta put some positive spin on him to help Panthers fans stomach another garbage season under his leadership.
  14. Sam just can’t process the field fast enough to be an NFL QB. He’s had tons of clean pockets this season and made awful decisions.
  15. Lol like Darnold doesn’t hold onto the ball way too long every f*cking pass and checks down the ball at the last second.
  16. Bump because the annual late season meaningless Panthers win that destroys draft position is looking likely today. F*ck this miserable franchise.
  17. If a treasure trove of Halle Berry feet pics are just cause to fire someone we would def be in business.
  18. I don’t want Richardson back but I do have an appreciation of those times and realize the grass isn’t always greener.
  19. True, but Tepper didn’t get where he was by burning piles of cash. Watch the pennies and the dollars take care of themselves, or so the saying goes
  20. I don’t think they will make anything up. Rhule seems clean aside from being a bad coach. But who knows. The bombshell could be right around the corner
  21. Most head coaching contracts in the NFL are guaranteed. Except in rare cases a coach is fired "For Cause". A coach fired for cause means the remaining years on the contract are voided. Take for example, Lane Kiffin's departure from the Oakland Raiders in 2008. Then Raiders owner Al Davis fired Kiffin "for cause" after a public feud with the coach. Kiffin filed a grievance with the NFL to recoup the money owed to him on the final two years of his contract, which was denied. https://www.espn.com/nfl/news/story?id=5808642 Urban Meyer was also fired by the Jaguars "for cause" after reports he abused a player, reportedly kicking kicker Josh Lambo in the leg during a practice. https://www.si.com/nfl/2021/12/18/urban-meyer-fired-for-cause Should Panthers owner David Tepper choose to fire Matt Rhule after the 2021 season, the remaining years on his 7 year, $62m contract would need to be paid out unless Rhule is fired "for cause". Joe Person's recent article in The Athletic highlighted some questionable comments and decisions made by Matt Rhule. Perhaps David Tepper's PR team is preparing to make a case to fire Rhule "for cause" and claim some of the issues were unknown by ownership. This dirt-digging endeavor could save Tepper millions. I think we will know if Tepper plans on firing Rhule in the next week. If we see a flurry of new articles highlighting previously unknown unscrupulous activity by Matt Rhule, Tepper could be planning to fire Rhule for cause. If it's quiet, and all we see is reports he's being kept for a third season, we might all be disappointed. Time will tell.
  22. Homemade gumbo leftover from New Years Eve. I always make my award winning world famous seafood gumbo every NYE. On new years day we will eat it over some black eyed peas. Today a massive cold front blew into Texas so some nice warm gumbo over rice will warm us right up.
  23. The problem is, Rhule has done nothing to be fired for cause. Tepper is going to have to pay out a huge amount of money to fire Rhule. Urban Meyer kicked a player and probably got fired for cause. So the Jaguars might not have to pay out his contract. If we keep seeing disparaging articles come out about Rhule and Tepper's people dig into Rhule's behavior and find something to fire him for cause, maybe we see him get fired. But like I've said before, the biggest reason Tepper is keeping Rhule is money.
