  1. They might not score a point without Chuba in the field not gonna lie
  2. I can’t say there’s any players who will be starting in defense this Sunday, except for Jaycee Horn, who should even be in CONSIDERATION to start next season. All of the players they have are either aging veterans who would be better served as depth/spot duty players, or practice squad/fringe level players who are only starting due to injuries and lack of talent on the roster. The defense has been historically terrible this year because there has been a concerted lack of investment in defense over the last 5 years since the 2020 all-defense draft. Evero has gotten two third round linebackers as his highest prospect each of the last two seasons he’s been DC. Honestly the team would be best served doing another almost all defense draft at this point. On offense, who are they evaluating at this point? Can’t think of anyone on the offense who could possibly start who would be a “let’s see what he’s got” kind of player.
  3. And I’d like to add another reason the Bears are struggling is their division which might finish with the best 3 teams by record in NFL history to all be in the same division. The Bears are probably going 0-6 in the division this year. So I can’t say playing 6 games against wildly superior opponents this year has done anything to help their confidence.
  4. His ceiling remains to be seen because he definitely shows flashes. He threw a Patrick Mahomes esque TD pass that was called back for holding. There are also boneheaded moments that make you remember he’s a rookie on a garbage team with terrible coaching. It’s going to depend on who the Bears hire to develop him if he reaches his potential which is an All-Pro QB.
  5. I think Evero is coming back for one more season. He’s been coaching with a group of practice squad players most of the season. His top draft pick since he arrived here is a 3rd round line backer. This is the draft they get him some help.
  6. To answer the question at hand, I was happy they won. The QB and head coach by all accounts are coming back next year. They have been playing close games and need to learn to win at some point. And mostly importantly they don’t need a QB in this draft. The big needs are on defense, the entire defense needs to be replaced. They’re starting practice squad guys for f*cks sakes. I’ll take the wins for Bryce and Canales so they can build their confidence. This team has lost enough in the last 7 seasons, it’s time to win some games and it doesn’t matter how much it impacts their draft position. They suck ass at drafting anyway.
  7. It’s a product of the team being so bad over the last 6-7 seasons. They haven’t developed players and they haven’t discovered the diamonds in the rough players. So when a player like Coker comes along, an UDFA rookie and makes an impact, of course the fans are going to be overly hyped. But the fact the Panthers found a WR who could contribute as an UDFA is something I can’t say they’ve had since what, Philly Brown?
  8. I’d like to see us sign Jalen Warren
  9. This game feels so weird. I can’t imagine these games are fair.
  10. He lifted his shirt and showed his waistband as if he had a gun afterward
  11. Hahaha the NFL is so biased to the chiefs. Worthy scores, knee looked down before the ball crossed the goal line, no discussion about it, not reviewed, TD is good no big deal.
  12. Why are we so sure he’s gonna leave?
  13. He should 100% be a pro bowler this season, he’s literally the panthers offense
  14. Would have gotten a lot more pie posting this any of the last 5 years, team might finally be pulling themselves out of the doldrums
  15. I usually agree with you that losing is better at this point in the season but because the same coach and QB are coming back next year I’d rather them ride some momentum into next season and learn to win some close games.
  16. They were due for one of these close games to swing their way. It just so happened against the one team the Panthers seem to thoroughly own
  17. Did you see how miraculously one team seems to get all the calls and then all of a sudden it’s the other team? Vegas needs to cover the spread and the NFL profits.
  18. The penalties being called against the Panthers are exactly why these rules are created. They are normal football actions that can be used to make games more competitive and prevent losing franchises from wining games in favor of better teams
  19. Unless he has a Cam Newton level year where he goes undefeated and wins the national championship, has nothing left to prove in college, I see Manning probably starting for 2 years at Texas. But I wouldn't be shocked if he came out in 2026 either.
  20. I wouldn't mind if the team focused on building a dominant defense the next 2 offseasons unless they're in a position to draft Arch Manning (whose family might refuse to let him play for the Panthers but we'll discuss that if it was ever a realistic possibility of drafting him) The defense has been gutted and neglected since the all-defense draft of 2020, the only remaining player from that draft being Derrick Brown. I expect a defensive player taken with the inevitable top 10 pick the Panthers will have, probably a pass-rusher or defensive tackle, and hopefully following it up with a LB or S in the second round. This team has so many needs at almost every position, that although a blue chip player in the top of the first round seems like a great idea, it might be worth considering trading down some slots to accumulate picks later in the 2025 draft or in 2026. It's a damn shame Scott Fitterer was too stupid to trade Brian Burns to the Rams for 2 first round picks and a second round pick. The Panthers would be in a MUCH different situation right now if he had taken that trade. If I saw him on the street I'd seriously ask him why on god's green earth did you turn that trade down?
  21. Matt Rhule was not a good head coach full stop end of discussion
  22. Yea we're not going to pick Cotchery Caught It or Kasay doesn't kick it out of bounds and get a Superbowl ring?
  23. If they didn't have Penix waiting in the wings, it would be a shitshow. As it stands, just a run of the mill horrible contract decision. The Panthers have a long list of those.
  24. Tough to play a full season in your upper 30's especially since he's coming off a pretty serious injury. Falcons bet that Cousins had more good years left, lost, and hedged their bet with Penix.
