Yea I noticed some buggy issues the last few months and I’ve been told that he has checked out of the page. Some here are friends with him on FB and socials I think. Maybe they can get him to do an update before next season starts
-
Ya know Ron DeSantis might have been unfairly been nicknamed the meatball because there’s no one more deserving of that nickname than Matt Rhule
-
The site could use updates. Especially if the team improves next season. @Jeremy Igo @Zod

Maybe Jeremy can just come back and fix this properly or did he lose the site in a game of Russian roulette, or so the legend goes?

A Perspective of the Roster (Red Meat to chew on)
hepcat replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
The roster is a mess if you zoom out. They have to rebuild the entire defense this offseason. The offense is in better shape but mainly because they spent a lot of money and resources on it last offseason. I think the first round pick will be a LB, probably of the pass rushing variety. Huge need on the edge for guys who can rush the QB. They got their moneys worth out of Clowney this year, but he’s signed for another season at a $10m cap hit. I wonder if he’s a cap casualty. But on a roster as barren as this one, especially on defense, they might have to keep him out of sheer necessity. Wonnum made an impact once he returned from injury but they need to get depth on the edge. DJ Johnson didn’t make much of an impact. DL in general could be in for a reshuffling with some younger veterans being brought in. They need to upgrade at safety big time. Jordan Fuller was a bust, a healthy scratch by the end of the year. Xavier Woods can go. So many times he showed up on game day with a bad play or badly timed penalty. I expect they’ll go free agency for this but who knows, they have some draft picks to work with. They might retain some of the young players who they played late in the season for training camp and see who sticks. CB Mike Jackson is a no brainer to re-sign to me. He expressed an interest to return to the team and won’t command a top dollar in free agency. Behind him the team needs to probably draft a mid round corner as depth to develop and sign a veteran in free agency. If they re-sign Jackson, the corner position is in a good place. They’ll probably look to lock up Horn long term this offseason. The offense is surprisingly in a much better position than last year. The WR position is deep. Thielen is probably in his last season with the team, but he’d be best served as a WR2/3. Legette needs to take a step up along with Coker. I definitely think bringing back David Moore makes sense. He made plays and seemed to have a connection with Bryce. TE is in decent shape with the emergence of JT Sanders. Hopefully we have seen the last of Ian Thomas. Tremble is a FA and I’m curious if they re-sign him. He isn’t horrible but they could also use someone with a higher ceiling to be that elite pass catching TE. If Tremble doesn’t break the bank, might be worth re-signing him and re-evaluating the position next year with bigger needs on the roster. The Brooks injury really f*cked up the RB room. He wasn’t worth the draft pick and might go down as an Eric Shelton level bust. I agree that cutting Sanders is a no-brainer but disagree with re-signing him. I’d honestly like to see if they could sign Jaylen Warren as a compliment to Hubbard, with Blackshear returning as the RB3. Warren won’t be cheap but less expensive than Sanders was. Brooks should be IRed for the entire season and not return until 2026. Maybe he has a long career due to these years off from football similar to what happened with Thomas Davis, but it’s hugely disappointing to spend a 2nd round draft pick on a player who will not see the field for two seasons, and had an injury to start his NFL career to boot. A late round RB in the draft makes sense as depth. OL needs Brady Christensen back and I think they have to pay him starter money to keep him. I’m fine with it. He can play all the positions on the OL. Essentially a 6th man. Pay him. Protect Bryce. After that they have a decision to make with Icky who had an up and down season, and Taylor Moton getting up there in age. Another reason Christensen is a priority to re-sign, with Nijman walking and no depth at tackle after that. A free agent tackle like Nijman makes sense again. Overall there’s a few key re-signings (Christensen and Mike Jackson) that will really set up the offseason. If they don’t get Jackson back, they’ll have to spend to get a starting caliber corner under Horn. If they don’t get Christensen back, they’ll have a depth problem on the offensive line. All the other needs are obvious. The safety room is going to be completely redone, the linebacker position needs a blue chip player, defensive line will be reshuffled. It’s a lot of moving parts. The good thing is, if Bryce takes another step forward, Dan Morgans job is much easier. -
Ron Rivera to the Bears
-
Canales 100% deserves a second season. A 3 wins improvement next season would be excellent.
-
Give him credit for what? The team just finished its 6th straight double digit losing season, 7th straight losing season under his ownership. They have up the most points in NFL HISTORY. So sure I’ll give him credit for being the sole reason the Panthers have been the laughing stock of the NFL since he bought the team. I’ll give him credit for raising money for the hurricane victims.
-
On the one hand, the team gave him minimal resources to be successful. The defense was obviously the afterthought in the team building process. It’s like the offense was for basically two decades under Fox and Rivera. There are maybe 2 or 3 players on the defense that would even have a chance to start on other rosters. On the other hand, I routinely saw Evero calling inappropriate defensive calls for the situation. Playing corners 5-7 yards off receivers on 3rd and 1. I saw lack of effort from defenders on many occasions. The Jamar Chase long TD comes to mind. So I’m torn, because Evero wasn’t set up for success. But at the same time if they’re about to invest a large amount of resources into the defense, they might as well have the head coach hand pick his guy.

Officially The Worst Defense in NFL History
hepcat replied to LelouchBritannia's topic in Carolina Panthers
The effort has not been there -
Panthers were -212 in point differential in 2010. They are currently -199 in point differential (worst in the NFL this season by far! Cleveland is 2nd worst at -177 and their season is over) So unless the Panthers post a 23 point win (I’d bet my life savings that doesn’t happen today) the Panthers will have the worst point differential in the NFL and if they lose by 14 or more points to the Falcons, will clinch the worst point differential in the franchise’s history. Despite some bright spots at points this season, the team is still garbage. Tepper ruined this franchise. I can’t wait to see the next sterling example of ineptitude this franchise shows us next season.
-
2014 when the Panthers destroyed them in ATL to win the division and become the kings of sh*t mountain. The famous Ron Rivera thumbs up gif. My least favorite was 2012, Haruki Nakamura whiffing on the deep pass to Roddy White at the end of the game, Matt Ryan screaming “get the f*ck off our field” BS.

Bryce Young post benching if it were a full season worth of stats.
hepcat replied to Car123's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don’t really care about the stats, what I will say is, I think we all agree he passes the eye test a lot more than last year. Whatever happened while he was benched seems to have saved his career. He’s proven he can at least be a moderately effective NFL QB and he will likely have a long NFL career as a fringe starter, and definitely a backup. I still think his physical limitations mean there is not much room for improvement with him. The only way for him to play better is to put an elite supporting cast around him. -
Not doing to matter unless they fix the pass rush
-
It’s Sarkesian’s playcalling. His cutesy playcalling burns them but also saves them
-
Texas won a game they absolutely should have won in a blowout and also definitely deserved to lose. I think either Oregon or Ohio State will beat them thoroughly
-
That kicker needs to be fired into the sun. Garbage
-
They completely missed Ewers getting targeted as well.
-
What is targeting? The definition is: “when a player makes forcible contact with an opponent that goes beyond a legal tackle or block, or playing the ball” I think the ball being tipped changed how the defender reacted to the ball and he didn’t lean into his helmet. There was a no call on Ewers getting hit in the helmet too. Might have just been evening it out.
-
Seemed kinda incidental because of the tipped ball
-
That PI in the end zone was uncatchable. Defense was on the field way too much.
-
Man Ewers, plays like a robot. The playcall is in, he just does it regardless of the read. He has been so disappointing this season
-
None

He’d be a good short yardage back for sure. Mike Alstott style. He’s “vomiting profusely” on the sideline right now though
