  1. We're back....back again! Seems like it took forever, but NFL football is back and so is the menu thread! What's on your menu for the game? A big Sir Purr salute who will be eating hot dogs, nachos and whatnot at BOA today... Been a busy week, no time to plan anything elaborate, decided the humble yet glorious chili cheeseburger would be a fitting way to start our fall tradition. Nothing fancy, just meats, cheese, bread, mustard and a cold frosty beverage or eight. Let's go Panthers! Football is back!
  2. and I'm ok with that. They know they have to account for CMC, but that's what Brady's offense does. Despite our OL, if Sam can diagnose and make quick decisions, we'll move the ball.
  3. Terry Rozier seemingly organized an off-season team workout in Miami with trainer Anthony Wells II https://www.atthehive.com/2021/9/8/22662788/charlotte-hornets-come-together-for-full-squad-workout-terry-rozier-miami?utm_campaign=atthehive&utm_content=chorus&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter
  4. yeah it's officially an unofficial chart. I have no idea what kind of punters we're facing in the first 3 or 4 weeks, so here's hoping they kick the crap out of the ball and DJ/CMC just fair catch. will admit though, it is fun to think about Christian catching the ball with 10 yards open space to work with. Also pretty sure Rhule's focus on downfield blocking in all aspects of the game might not make this as dangerous as past regimes. Might.
  5. neither are DJ and Christian. Shi's draft profile: Analysis: Smith was a shining light in what was a dreary 2020 season for South Carolina. He’s a sure-handed receiver with outstanding quickness and toughness as well as a head for the game. Smith possesses the ability to line up as a third receiver who can be used in the slot, returning punts, or running reverses. https://www.profootballnetwork.com/shi-smith-nfl-draft-player-profile-south-carolina-wide-receiver/ I did finally find stats that show he never returned punts in Columbia, and you are right, KR and PR are two different things. I'd rather go get someone than have 5 TEs on the roster and our two best offensive weapons getting more wear and tear.
  6. I'm ok with DJ or CMC if a game is on the line, but I thought we were going to give Christian a lesser load to keep him healthy. We need Shi to get healthy fast. Chuba seems like the obvious guy, but the fumble thing....
  7. got a new computer a week ago, getting settings adjusted. Couldn't read twitter posts here, but could on twitter. Got that fixed now.
  8. we didn't have an open spot did we? Who is getting cut?
  9. Alaina Getzenberg @agetzenberg · 11m Some news: This past week was my last with @theobserver. I'm excited to announce that I am now covering the Buffalo Bills for ESPN. Another Panthers-Bills transaction (of sorts) in the books.
  10. Joe Person @josephperson · 29m Panthers were 4-pt favorites vs. the Jets when the initial line came out in May. Now they're 5-pt favorites, per
  11. He did return kicks and had a 62 yard kick return in the Senior bowl. Maybe a Gamecock fan knows if he returned any punts.
  12. Chuba had/has a fumbling issue. We'll see. If Shi is healthy enough, I kinda had him penciled in, but he may need another couple of weeks.
  13. facing our pass rush is not ideal for a rookie QB, especially with their Oline. The sooner we get Darnold to believe that he is a good QB that was in a horrible situation (whether true or not), the fast he will calm down and gain confidence. That side, what do I know about the Jets? QWill is a real beast, and with our IOL the weak leak on the team...ooh wee mayne
  14. had not heard that, thanks. have always loved me some Josh.
  15. Panthers talk starts at 5 mins. dude predicts Panthers to be one of 3 NFC south teams to make the playoffs.
  16. mosts analysts said that Surtain was more NFL ready, while Jaycee had the higher ceiling. We should definately expect some growing pains, and a good bit of those will be holding calls...he's a handsy kind of CB. He's going to be very good in time. Had the work ethic, the lineage, and boy of boy does he have the tools.
  17. I've seen some numbers posted here I don't believe are correct. Cutting more leaves with 625k dead cap this year and next. Total of 1.25 mill in dead cap. Total cap savings for the 2 years are 3.5 million. Easy decision to make for WR4, who Shi make push down to WR5. So add 2.5 mill in cap space to next years total. And add 6 mill in dead cap next year when we cut Shaq. And add 12 mill in cap savings at the same time. Those 2 moves alone give us 14.5 mill more cap space for 2022. future's so bright...
  18. out of over a hundred thousand posts, you saved your best for now.
  19. Joe Person @josephperson · 3m Several NFL owners, including David Tepper, have matched the NFL Foundation’s $1 million donation for relief efforts in New Orleans in the wake of Hurricane Ida. Classy move.
  20. you know the famous old saying....if you've got 5 tight ends, you don't have a tight end.
  21. wow Joe Person @josephperson · 2m Panthers have cut WR David Moore.
  22. and remarkably, it looks like there are 10 second year players on the team as well.
