was reading Darin Gantt this week and he noted these stats "Andy Dalton is 26th on the all-time passing yards list (39,500), ahead of Hall of Famers Jim Kelly, Steve Young, YA Tittle, Troy Aikman, and many more. He's also 26th on the all-time touchdown pass list (253), and the next one he throws ties him with Dan Freaking Fouts (254). He grew up in Texas idolizing Aikman, and has about 90 more touchdowns than the former Cowboys Hall of Famer (165)." https://www.panthers.com/news/ask-the-old-guy-ready-to-get-to-training-camp-tetairoa-mcmillan-bryce-young-fantasy-football-ai-hot-dogs pretty nice having him for a back up. Hope he wants to play another year or two

Scourton isn't signed (& apparently it's a thing)
Captain Morgan replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
there have been numerous 2nd rounders who have signed today as rookies report next week. No word on Scourton. Hopefully soon. Really hope he reports Monday and we on to business on the field. -
not even if that team in New Orleans disbands before the first game. Saw one 2026 mock that had them drafting first next year.

XL, I wanna party with you, cowboy. If he starts catching the ball he could end up as my favorite Panther of all time. Never seen anyone who enjoys life more than him.

Rookies report 2 weeks from today.
Captain Morgan replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
because we can't edit thread titles (for some reason) I can't change this to 1 week from today, and don't want to start another thread, but one week from today rookies report. just one more week. Even the photos of them arriving, and some fluff tweets and write ups will be better than nothing. Keep pounding mfers -
he'll be back before our two games. He was a very good draft pick. We got Derrick in that draft

To commemorate the upcoming 10-year anniversary of that beloved team, The Charlotte Observer put together its own team — of journalists, who have spent six months conducting dozens of exclusive interviews and searching for previously unseen visuals. The result: A full-length documentary called “SUPER MEN: The inside story of the 2015 Carolina Panthers,” as well as a four-part online series, both bulging with anecdotes and photos that Panthers fans will have never seen or heard before. The four-part online series about the 2015 Panthers will run Monday through Thursday (July 14-17) on The Charlotte Observer’s website, with one part publishing per day. The series (as well as the documentary) will rely heavily on dozens of new interviews with players Luke Kuechly, Greg Olsen, Thomas Davis, Jonathan Stewart, Josh Norman, Kurt Coleman, Roman Harper, Ryan Kalil, Mike Tolbert and J.J. Jansen, as well as 2015 head coach Ron Rivera and many others. Some players also furnished The Observer with previously unseen photos and videos from that remarkable season, and those will also be displayed. The series also will be published in The Charlotte Observer’s print editions on consecutive Sundays — Parts 1 and 2 on July 20 and Parts 3 and 4 on July 27. Documentary premieres July 24 The hour-long “SUPER MEN” documentary will premiere at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 24 at Independent Picture House in Charlotte. Charlotte Observer subscribers have a chance to buy half-price tickets — at a cost of $10 each — if they purchase by Sunday. Those special price tickets will include a meet-and-greet session before the documentary with Ron Rivera, the coach of the 2015 team and the winningest head coach in Carolina Panthers history. Subscriber tickets can be purchased here. A question-and-answer session about the 2015 season with all attendees will follow the documentary, at 8:30 p.m., in the same theater. The panelists will include Rivera and former Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly, as well as other special guests.

Player Led culture vs Staff Led
Captain Morgan replied to Cam's New Arm's topic in Carolina Panthers
I've watched this and think we are well underway. Believe it or not, Bryce is a big part of this. The way he bounced back with such grace. And we've got a lot of young players who want to make their mark, Dave is giving them an opportunity. I loved our draft. I like the number of guys we brought in, and they will help build the culture we want under Dave. We're getting closer, and I think we'll see more wins this year than most of the board. The right culture breeds winning, and winning builds the right culture. Imho, it's coming. -
Darin Gantt @daringantt · 15m The league announced training camp dates. Panthers rookies will report 7/21 and vets report on 7/22. Panthers will host Browns for a joint practice on 8/6 and visit the Texans for a practice on 8/14. https://x.com/daringantt/status/1935419284139782256

not sure if any of this is news, but a good summary of our situation heading into training camp. It's sure gonna be good getting Derrick back. After missing virtually all of the 2024 season, Panthers defensive tackle Derrick Brown is aiming for a full return to the field during training camp later this summer, per Joseph Person of The Athletic. Brown tore his meniscus in Week 1 and underwent season-ending surgery that has kept him limited through spring practices, though he did participate in “walk-throughs and light side work” during mandatory minicamp, according to Person. Brown originally stated a desire to be ready for the 2025 regular season, but his timeline appears to have moved up. Brown’s injury was particularly disappointing after a career-best 2023 season. He led all defensive linemen with 103 total tackles and was named to his first Pro Bowl, earning him a four-year, $96MM extension from the Panthers in April 2024. While he has never been a prolific pass rusher, Brown’s size and power has consistently commanded double-teams and created opportunities for his teammates. His impact was evident last season, as Carolina’s run defense ranked dead-last in his absence. The Panthers spent significant resources this offseason on defensive line depth, which should allow them to manage Brown’s usage more carefully coming off a major injury. He played a whopping 940 defensive snaps in 2023 (89% of the team’s total) and was on the field for almost every play before his injury last year. With new teammates Tershawn Wharton, Bobby Brown III, and Cam Jackson ready to share the load, Derrick Brown can take a lower snap share to stay fresh and healthy for the entire season. Here are a few updates on other Panthers returning from injuries: https://www.profootballrumors.com/2025/06/panthers-injury-updates-brown-tremble-barno-wallace

Bryce among the 7 players Mark Ross of NFL.com guarantees will get better this season. Today, I am identifying seven players who I guarantee will improve on their 2024 output in the 2025 season. Young took tremendous strides in 2024 after returning to the starting lineup in Week 8 following his benching. He looked far more comfortable in his return and produced with consistency, as he threw for 2,104 yards with 15 TDs and six INTs in the final 10 contests. Most important perhaps is Young's confidence grew immensely down the stretch, leading Carolina to either a game-tying or game-winning drive in six of those games. Now he enters his second season in Dave Canales' system with his best supporting cast to date. The Panthers drafted wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan eighth overall to pair with Adam Thielen and Xavier Legette, who I also believe is poised for a breakout campaign this fall. The 18th-ranked rushing attack from a year ago added Rico Dowdle to complement Chuba Hubbard, giving the team a pair of 1,000-yard rushers. The Panthers have taken the necessary steps to ensure Young's third season will be the best of his career, and now it's up to him to not only continue to grow as a player but prove why he was worthy of being taken No. 1 overall in 2023. I believe that's what he will do. https://www.nfl.com/news/which-nfl-players-will-improve-in-2025-c-j-stroud-deebo-samuel-among-guaranteed-risers
