  1. And I would ask them if they really think that Lawrence is going to surpass TB12's accomplishments. I doubt that Lawrence turns out to be the best QB playing right now (which, for now, is Mahomes). He's got a long way before he's in the conversation of Marino Rodgers, Montana, Manning, Elway, Favre, Bradshaw, etc.
  2. Newton can be such a putz sometimes. He should think before he writes--consider the consequences!
  3. Lance has a higher ceiling than even Lawrence. All he needs is development and experience.
  4. I became more disappointed in Cam as time went on because I didn't see the growth and development that (at the time) I thought that he was capable of. Notwithstanding the injuries, it became clearer to me over time that he had already hit his ceiling, and that his mechanics just weren't going to appreciably improve, and neither was his decision making or touch on intermediate throws. Sure, Rivera and company didn't help by running him silly, but running from the QB position should always be a secondary thing at the pro level, because a kid can get seriously hurt out there. I could be wrong, but I think that Lance is naturally a better passer and has more arm talent than Cam. And, just as important, I think he is probably a better decision maker. So, I really don't see the on-point comparison.
  5. Bucky Brooks says that Lance can play I'm any system. I don't know if he is as strong as Mahomes, but he can still make any throw. He is also probably a more able runner in my opinion.
  6. With Rhule at the helm, Lance's overall potential is probably higher. Cam's potential was very high at one point, but his decision making, mechanics, and touch passes never got to where they needed to be! It didn't help that his protection was suspect for most of his stay down here also.
  7. If Darnolds took care of the ball better, he'd be worth a first.
  8. I think that the key is "right now", but as time goes on, the little birdies around the league will provide a little more clarity to the picture.
  9. I'd be reluctant to give up a first for him. Stafford had many exceptional stats that were pretty damned good considering the stats of his weapons and the rest of the Lions. I can't say the same for Kerr. That said, if the price is right, hell, why not?
  10. I'm going to be for real. I haven't even looked him up too much because I've heard that he has a weak arm. I'm going to give him his due.
  11. Your deflection is ludicrous! You're a pretty bad comic or just delusional if you actually believe that I am offended by a disagreement of opinion about a football player or football team. I reject your boom-or-bust narrative in reference to Lance, period! Sorry (not sorry) you don't like that! I hope your night gets better.
  12. Like I said: I reject your boom-or-bust narrative in regards to Lance! I reject your intimations that coaches purposefully limited his throws! Moreover, if you "don't want Lance", he's obviously not your first choice or any choice, do don't try and hedge now. Live by what you said!
  13. Your modus operandi is tiresome and tired! You have already said that you didn't want Lance. Yes, you have! You've also said that his coaches "limited" his throws and "avoided" throwing the ball, intimating that Lance was the issue! You've made a dishonest and/or disingenuous leap based solely upon Lance's lack of throws (as you see it)! Every time I counter your bullshit, you accused me of being sensitive or defensive (which is ludicrous, I might add) when it's you who are the one being sensitive. Chill out a little bit! Don't be so sensitive when someone counters your argument!
  14. Just like at any other level of football, you do what it takes to win, and running down someone's throat is preferable every single time! Stop with the bullshit narrative about people getting defensive. It's not true. Lance is just a prospect like all the other ones. He will get his knocks just like everyone else not named Trevor. Analysis and criticism are all a part of the process, but you seem to take offense every time someone points out counterarguments to prospects that you don't want. Your go-to argument is that some message boarders are being "defensive", but you're the one who is low-key getting the attitude. I'll say what I said the last time you accused me of being defensive: Some of you are going to rue the day that you talked poo about Trey Lance. And, I stand behind what I said. If he busts, I'll be the first to admit it. But, when he turns out to be special, I won't even have to say "I told you so", because you'll know. For the record, I'll be content to get a potential starter. Sure, I think Lance has the highest upside, and I doubt that he's going to bust, but if we pick Wilson, Fields, or even Jones, I will trust that Rhule and company know what they're looking for and be hopeful that it all works out. Even if we don't pick a QB, I know that we will acquire one relatively soon (before Teddy's contract is up).
  15. The Bengals seem like the most likely option to me. They will trade down a couple of spots and still get their guy. It just makes sense.
  16. Thousands of throws and reads behind? More like hundreds, but even if that's the case, it's because they've played more. You've been consistently trying to act like Lance can't throw the ball! Good luck with that! Trey Lance may have the most experience running a pro-style offense. So, there's that!
  17. I don't agree with your boom-or-bust theory! Lance arguably has the highest upside of this class. He has strength, arm talent, good decision making, and mobility. The only things that he really needs are teaching, time and experience!
  18. Sounds reasonable to me. It's certainly not on the level of what the Rams offered.
  19. I was listening to ESPN this morning, and I heard about so many things that Stafford had to deal with that other QBs with similar QBRs did not! I can't remember them all, but he either played with 1 or 0 top 10 defenses in his career. He also only had an RB eclipse 100 yards 11 times in 12 years. Also, during that same span, the running game averaged 89 yards! And this ain't all! Basically Stafford got no help for most of his career there despite putting up high level numbers.
